Showtime: Jermall DeAndre Charlo vs. Brandon Quincy Adams & Erickson Lubin vs. Zakaria Attou RBR

Attou had nothing to really offer up here, but you couldn't ask for a better performance as far as gauging Lubin's effectiveness versus a mannequin on rollerskates.

This is Brandon the Cannon, who lost to Willie Monroe Jr. in the Boxcino finals, and won The Contender season 5 with upsets over Ievghen Khytrov & Shane Mosley, Jr. - and is a more than decent boxer (and ould have been a far less ridicule-worthy GGG opponent than Steve Rolls)

Brian Adams is some pussy-ass Canadian singer.

 

I don't care who the guy is or what defines what is or isn't part of some dumb genre. He was mumbling in the course of his whatever the hell it was he was doing - and whatever he was doing, I didn't like it.

"Lions only" is a dumb-ass catch phrase and it doesn't sound less dumb when you slur it with a Southern accent. Quite the opposite, in fact.

 

Round 1

Charlo is getting baited into jabbing duels with Adams, who quickly ducks his face down below the waist, leaving Charlo slicing the air with rapid but poorly aimed hooking flurries. Rinse & repeat. Lots of Charlo's shots are either whiffing or brushing across the spine of Adams, who is poking at the body with left jabs from a deep forward bend. Charlo plops in an uppercut square on the button while Adams is ducking in, but Adams stands up to it pretty well.
