per Steve Kim's Twitter account. I guess Montiel and Donaire were asked to enter, and make it a Super 6ish tournament but Top Rank balked at it.

I don't fancy Vic's chances for real Bantamweight success but I really like that he goes for it. Should be good stuff. I thought Montiel and Vic were going to get it on though.

If this had been a Super 6, it would have been truly amazing. It's what boxing fans dream about. Mares, Perez, Agbeko, Montiel, Donaire and Darchinyan? ****ing hell. Amazing.

If it comes off, fantastic news.

The winner of that can then face the winner of Montiel-Donaire. Bantamweight supremacy can at last be established...........when Hasegawa comes back and beats the winner of that :yep

    no way.

in that case Dirrel would have been eliminated long ago, we wouldn't have had Kessler-Froch and we wouldn't be seeing Froch-Abraham.

the only thing wrong with the Super 6 is the length of time taking to get through it, rather than that lets have more of the same.

Steve Kim also added that Donaire wanted to be in the tourney, but Top Rank balked at the deal because what Showtime was offering didn't match up to Donaire and Montiel's purse minimums, among other reasons.

This is brilliant news! Bantamweight is up there with featherweight and light welter as the best around at the moment. Perez-Agbeko needed to happen again as does Mares-Perez. I see Mares as a fabulous prospect and would fancy him to beat Vic at this weight. Plus then go on to win it all. Anyone reckon primetime could get this in the uk? Its the type of show which sometimes interests them

donaire and montiel should accept. this would be a great opportunity for them to build their resumes and reps with an event. bantam is an unknown division to the public and they're kidding themselves if they think they're above the rest of the division...
