Garcia would get beaten by Linares. Talk of him having success against Spence or Lomachenko is just fantasy talk.

Good read. It was a quality, high level boxing match. Action throughout, with four distinct phases of momentum. Easter boxed better than a lot of us expected, and made Mikey adjust with his great boxing brain. And he either threw down or walked Easter down when he knew that was the best course of action. The 9th was a battle that turned a compelling fight into a really good, exciting fight.

I've been saying I didn't like that Mikey cruised going away and it became merely a solid rather than really impressive performance late, but Easter did go into survival mode when he both felt Mikey's power and found he didn't have the wind to again throw enough behind solid feet to trouble Mikey on the outside. So the openings weren't there for Mikey. Still going to say I think Mikey can do more and would've been so great to see, but can't fault much I guess.

I was extremely impressed. Mikey looked dumb and frustrated in the second round. Robert clearly won the 1st and 2nd. After the Lipinets performance I started thinking, geez.. I overrated the **** out of Mikey. Then Mikey just completely adapted to Easter imo. Sure Robert was landing some weak ass jabs but Mikey clearly landed the more telling shots. The thing is I've always been a guy who scored on clean effective punching. And Mikey clearly landed the clean effective punches.

Easter is a tough SOB. It's hard to stop him. Did you see those body punches Mikey landed? Goddamn those hurt me watching.

Mikey would beat Linares. Lomachenko struggled with Linares, I doubt Mikey would go down vs Linares like Lomachenko did.

Mikey vs Lomachenko would be a fascinating fight at 135, but I think that ship has sailed unfortunately due to boxing politics. You're delusional if you don't think Mikey would have success against Lomachenko. Lomachenko is a fantastic talent, but he's hardly unbeatable. Garcia is a better fighter than anyone Lomachenko has been in with. The difference between Mikey and Linares is the ability to maintain a high level of concentration and stamina.

Mikey has a much better chance vs Spence at Welterweight than Lomachenko does because Mikey matches up better with bigger fighters than Lomachanko does. Lomachenko would have problems with a guy like Easter, what Mikey did tonight Lomachenko couldn't do. Lomachenko might be able to grind out a win over Easter, but he'd struggle more and lose more rounds IMHO. The height and reach advantage Easter has would overwhelm Lomachenko more than it did Mikey tonight.

Mikey went down against Martinez. There’s a reason why Mikey ducked Linares. Linares would’ve easily have been his best win. If Mikey has such great concentration then how does he lose rounds against paper title holders like Easter? Imagine if Lomachenko lost four rounds against a guy like Easter and won a decision. That would never happen, Lomachenko would’ve stopped Easter within six rounds.
Why isn’t Garcia calling out the man at 135? He knows what will happen.

I was only disappointed with Mikey, with an hour's hindsight, because I underrated Easter. He was really composed early, he kept up his work rate all the way, his defence was good enough that outside the kd he didn't get hit with anything he didn't see, and he definitely showed chin and heart that I didn't think he had. Yeah after the 9th I commented that Easter rallied back hard because he really felt a body shot, that was heart. I was looking for a Garcia beheading tonight, it didn't happen, Easter deserves props for making it a tough fight for Mikey, even if Mikey comfortably won on the cards.

I have seen both guys after the fight wanting this fight but its so hard to believe this fight could happen.
Are there any real chances that this will take place?(this year even).

That was like 5 years ago. Mikey is a much better much more complete much more focused fighter since he's come back from his 2 years away from the sport.

We're not talking about the Mikey Garcia from 5 years ago. This is Prime Mikey Garcia. He's a completely different animal now. Easter is a stylistic nightmare, and he's a very solid fighter. Lomachenko would have stopped Easter within six rounds ?? Are you sure about that ?? Could Lomachanko even drop Easter like Mikey did?

Why isn't Garcia calling out "The Man" at 135? He already tried to make that fight, don't you remember when Mikey met Lomachenko in the green room and tried to get him to make a Lomachenko vs Mikey PPV fight. Lomachenko didn't seem to want to make that fight, or maybe he couldn't due to the promotional hurdles. We all know the hurdles to make that fight happen. I want to see that fight as much as you do, but one fighter fights on Showtime the other fights on HBO and now ESPN. The TR ESPN deal is a big problem because Mikey may have been willing to fight on HBO but fighting on ESPN and especially with this new ESPN+ BS, it's an even harder fight to make.

You're saying Mikey ducked Linares? Look I'm not really focused on what happened 5 year ago. Mikey has improved dramatically to who he was 5 years ago. Mikey is in his Prime right now and would give Linares or any other 135 lber (including Lomachenko) major problems.

Mikey's nose leaks every fight and you can tell that most clean shots bother him.

I must admit I'm glad Garcia struggled. I don't think he'll ever fight Loma and had he smashed Easter he'd have been arguable as to who was number 1 in the division, as it is everyone now knows it's definitely Loma.
