It's to bad most idiots on here can't see that. It was a close fight. Could have gone either way. I scored it for Porter but can see it going to Thurman. Scores were all over the place on the judges card.

Great fight. I wouldn't have wanted to judge it....really close. Thurman hurt Porter repeatedly while Porter's "Leon Spinks" swarming style was very effective.

A rematch would be great...a real fan friendly matchup.

Alright, alright let's move back a little. I don't know you, and you don't know me. So apologies if I came off as an "*******". But why did you have porter winning pretty wide when the rest of us had it a close fight?

I was really impressed at how Thurman was able to counter Porter, especially with uppercuts towards the end of the fight. Thurman repeatedly was landing bombs on Porter (hooks, uppers) sometimes even when Thurman was off balance from Porter’s relentless attack.

Thruman just had incredible strength tonight, this guy was in tremendous condition. I was really impressed also with Thurman’s footwork which was the one area where I thought could have allowed Porter to win if Thurman didn’t have strong lefts. But he did have a lot of leg strength and his movement and game plan were top notch.

I like how Thurman showed that he has power in both hands. Early on in the fight Thurman landed some nice left hook counters, and as the fight wore on he threw the right hand more.

This is my pick for Fight of The Year so far. Both these guys brought it and delivered a barnburner edge-of-your-seat fight. Both these guys deserve credit and I think the judges got it right. Thurman’s clean effective quality punches won him the fight, and for the fans to boo the decision was ridiculous!

Thurman had Porter staggered on one occasion and really had him going again in the last round. I’m watching it again as I’m typing this. Just an awesome Fight! Congrats to Thurman. This guy proved himself tonight. It takes real skill to beat a workhorse like Porter and Thurman got the job done!

Porter's footspeed is faster, Spence doesn't even use footspeed, it's not part of his style :huh
He plants and digs shots. Porter's footwork is sloppy, but yeah faster.

Keith's ring iq is clearly not overrated. He's effective off the front or backfoot, leading or countering. He switches shots, puts power on some and takes power off of other shots. What more are you looking for in ring intelligence.

I'd like to see a rematch, but further down the road. Even though this fight was close, I still felt it was close but clear.

    A Keith Thurman victory.

I see the majority here scoring a Thurman win. How people scored it 116-112 for Porter is beyond me.

Just great stuff here. I was impressed by both and especially Thurman. I thought tonight might be a "heart check" for Thurman. He passed the test on skill and on will. He's very good.

Overall it was a great fight, both men upped their credibility in this fight and neither really lost anything. Both likely gained more fans. It's just said that this argument is going on instead of people showing props to both. Believe me, Porter is from Stow, I'd love to give him props. He didn't win..

Here's what people need to realize, and I can't recall the video from E. Steward where he broke it down (assistance, please).

But he said take a 4 round fight:

    Judge 1: Score Card
    R1 A 10-9
    R2 A 10-9
    R3 B 10-9
    R4 A 10-9

    Judge 2
    R1 A 10-9
    R2 A 10-9
    R3 A 10-9
    R4 B 10-9

    Judge 3
    R1 A 10-9
    R2 B 10-9
    R3 A 10-9
    R4 A 10-9

All 3 judges arrive at the same score card with different rounds given to the victor, but all rounds close enough that the round could have gone to the opponent...!!!

So a 39-37 win for Boxer A could technically been a shutout win or 39-37 type win for Boxer B...!!!

Definitely a question. I personally scored it for Porter and have no problem with any scores resembling 115-113 either way but it was not
a convincing win for Thurman. A draw would have been fine also.

A side point---I trust the crowds more than the judges and it sure looked like they also thought Porter won.

Spence's footwork may be slower, but far more effective. Porter running in didn't do him any favors when it smotheres his shots and leaves him open to counters coming him.

Thurman can't adapt in fights. Thurmans version of adapting in a fight is simply to run more. Happened in Guerrero, Collazo and a bit here. And Thurman should have been on the ropes far less in this fight.
