Porter would be a great running back between the tackles, or a great olympian wrestler. Thurman was the boxer tonight landing the harder and more accurate shots.

Great pressure fighters are rare. Guys like Duran, tyson, calzage, choclatito can get inside and keep on working the whole time without holding. Porter doesnt have that skill level as a pressure fighter.

Close but clear. There will be no rematch.

Would love to see Thurman in with Garcia, Crawford, or Brook vs Spence winner.

You didn't point the people who picked thurman!:verysad And PinoyProdigy doesn't really care what you think, I'm pretty sure of that. You make it seem like some young man like PinoyProdigy is big time or something. How many times do you guys score against eachother?

Thurman is sharper than Porter. He's the better boxer. Thurman's corner said "You won the fight but you still need to win this round (12th)", and they were spot on. Porter should've finished strong, he failed to do it and lost the fight. Great respect to him but this is as far as he goes. His skill set is limited.

I had Thurman winning 7-5. But thing is; if Porter was the undefeated champ here and Thurman the challenger, Porter would keep his belt. That's how it works.

You should have to beat the champion, but people don't always see it that way. I had it a draw, but 7-5 either way is fine. 116-112 Porter I can't figure that one out.

For me Porter looked in control the majority of the fight,Thurman I thought took the last 2 rds and took a rds and a half maybe 2 early when Porter was said to first be stunned. For the rest of the fight though Shawn P looked to be the one doing the better work and more active. One shot at the end of the rds doesn't swing a rds for me if the other fighter has won basically the whole rd at that point.
Good fight competitive so I can see some close rds but overall I thought Porter deserved the win wouldn't call it a robbery but I had it the other way.

You’re right. I completely agree that there should be no rematch. The fight was good enough for the fans to want to see a rematch, but I don’t think Thurman should have to go 12 more rounds with Porter after that performance. He won, like you said close but clear. Brook vs Thurman would be an awesome fight, and really Thurman vs any of the guys you mentioned would be an awesome fight.

The other thing is, if Thurman fought Porter again, it probably would be good but not as great as this fight.

After the first 3 rounds, I felt Thurman controlled this fight up until he got busted to the body in round 8, which swung the fight significantly for several rounds.

You think 116-112 Porter is plausible?

That is the stupidest thing people say in boxing. Of course you have to beat him. How else are you suppose to win? Once the bell ring there is no champion. The belt is up for grabs. The guy holding the belt also has to beat the other guy to retain the belt.
