Again, reading comprehension you fool. We are talking about scoring. Not about porter or Thurman. Learn to read and comprehend what the conversation is about.

Scoring for this fight, is what everyone is talking about. You have to beat the champion, that's that!:hi:

Porter gets an A for effort, but skillz pay the billz and Thurman deserved it more by staggering Porter numerous times, making Porter miss (look at the connect %) and landing the bigger more impressive punches.

And where did Thurman hold? It’s ridiculous to say he was “holding all night”. This was one fight where the ref didn’t have to break them up. (until the later rounds where there were a small number of clinches)

Most of the fight the ref didn’t have to do anything, and Thurman wasn’t holding. The few clinches that there were towards the end of the fight, were neutral and neither guy was holding more than the other.

Thanks for that link. Interesting that all 3 judges gave the 8th round to Thurman, that was the round where Porter had that massive two body combo that sent Thurman to the other side of the ring.

Though Thurman was doing well before that moment and even after that he recovered finished the round OK. A very tough round to score, but certainly one of Porter’s best moments.

I’m sure many of the peeps who had Porter winning gave Porter that round, simply for that moment.

On the other hand, 2 of the 3 judges had Porter winning the 12th which I thought at the time was a clear round for Thurman, though I’ll have to watch it again. Though on those two scorecards that gave Porter the 12th, he was already down by 3 pts heading into that round, so they probably just gave Porter that round since it wasn’t going to decide the fight. (the Judge who gave the 12th to Thurman would have been a draw had the 12th been scored for Porter)

You described 4 rounds as 'very close' and hard to score. You gave all four of those rounds to Porter. From your scoring and breakdown as it happened you shouldn't have much of a problem if those 4 rounds were given to Thurman, which would make it 8-4 Thurman, so I don't know how you can so adamantly call it a bad decision. I scored it a draw and am ok with Thurman taking it. Porter was more consistent and fought his fight more than Thurman's, but Thurman landed most of the clean punches.
