30-27 RG, heating up nicely, still not quite hitting 2012 high notes but that's probably too lofty an expectation. If the next seven (assuming it goes that long) are like this, no complaints.

Guerrero's left cross the most effective weapon, but the Berto hook & uppercut inside not chopped liver either.

 

K well that much has now been spoiled, oh well.

 

40-36 RG, his best power shots of the night so far coming in the fourth. Berto holding after eating some left crosses. A bit of sloppy but vicious and competitive infighting, each with a hand trapped in the other's armpit.

 

Berto's corner telling him if he left a stronger finishing impression he could have won that round. I can't imagine that is true.

Ruben Guerrero telling his son that he is "breaking him down", which is a more truthful statement. Nice and measured, not "he's ready to go, hurry and try for the KO now" - but just basically "steady on, you got this".

 

WTF? That was...a knockdown. What am I missing, how was that not a knockdown?

Left uppercuts on the chin and right hooks on the body, Guerrero on fire!

A minute left, Berto looks like he is crapping BRICKS, eyes wide as silver dollars.

10-9 Guerrero but that should've been 10-8 in all honesty.

Jesus, what are you talking about Farhood?!? I guess he needed to put a punctuation mark on his lengthy years of decline as quality unofficial scorer with another bat**** card.

BERTO SWEEPING ROUNDS 3-5, HOW?!?!

edit: oh, no, he gave Guerrero those rounds...but Berto rounds 1&2? I mean they were close and largely uneventful - but still clear for Guerrero.

 

A few hours ago yeah. I'm just playing catch-up now.

 

Another dominant round for Guerrero even though Berto got some bombs in. Scored what appeared to be another knockdown and closed the show by zapping Berto with flush straight lefts on the mush. 60-54 Ghost

 

Ref is fed up with both guys over the rabbit punching. It's a southpaw vs. orthodox, clashing styles thing more than intentional on either's part I think. But the referee has a point, he's given them multiple warnings now, they should be minding their p's and q's at this point.

 

Like the first two, another "Guerrero for the most part moves and jabs to preserve distance and outbox Berto" round.

Okay, my faith had just been restored in Farhood being remotely sane when I realized I'd misread that brief glimpse of his scorecard flashed onscreen and the names were the other way around - but now he goes and gives Berto rounds six and seven?! Come on!

 

80-72 RG, the sharper outside boxer and the more "got that dog in him" infighter.

Pretty bad low blow from Guerrero.
