Showtime PPV: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor & Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack RBR.

I think Floyd just did the smart thing.

He wasn't aware of what Mcgregor would bring, so he took a look for a few rounds.


He probably looked at Mcgregor's boxing in the octagon and seen that Mcgregor's boxing strength in that sport comes from his ability to time his opponent early in fights.....

By taking it past a couple of rounds, the percentage chance of Mcgregor landing that one significant punch reduces, and a Mayweather victory becomes more certain.

 

That checks out - except that Floyd has always claimed he doesn't watch tape of his opponents (which exactly nobody ever believed )

 

It's funny how many people only judge boxers success by getting early round KO's.


Mayweather did to Mcgregor what he did to all his opponents.
In all honesty, Mayweather's success, despite being loudmouthed, came from the fact he gave every opponent a lot of respect.

 

Yeah, even with Baldomir he went in there overprepared, which is why it ended up being such a mismatch of a lineal title fight.

 

Shows how Mentality is the most important part of any sport.

If you don't have the Mentality to prepare correctly, you're not going to be ready physically.



Don't get me wrong, I don't really like any version of Mayweather 'The person' I have seen......

I don't like him, but respect him massively.

 

In McGregor's defense he is a "striker" and not a "boxer". I got him beating the Russian by KO. As for Floyd he can go **** himself. Hopefully we never see him lace up boxing gloves ever again. He's too busy sabotaging his own stable in his boxing promotion and peter fighting in the bathroom of "The Big Boy Mansion" with 50 Cent.

 

The second highest grossing fight in boxing history, oh my... What a circus this was. Still waiting for ol' Connie to tie the gloves back on and give a go at Paulie!

Floyd fought like how manny fought his whole career big difference was manny was doing what Floyd did to connor but to a/b class elite fighters
