Lets face it. He was so delusional he thought he would stop Mayweather early. He never trained to go 12.

I imagine both Mayweather and McGregor realized that McGregor's best chance was an early KO and that trying for a decision victory was stupid.

So McGregor invested everything in the early rounds, knowing full well he would have nothing left for the later rounds.

While Mayweather just didn't bother fighting much as he was expecting an initial onslaught.

Still, I think McGregor surprised Mayweather. Mayweather doesn't have the defensive abilities he once had.

Maybe Conor McGregor vs Paulie Malignaggi at Madison Square Garden on St. Patrick's Day weekend 2018? (Probably at 154.)

I know he isn't a pressure fighter and he wasn't even aggressive at 130 either, that's a huge myth (although I agree he was more so).
But yeah, feeling like he had to wait it out for Conor to gas out is shameful.
Remember this isn't a world title fight, this is a circus match. I was expecting Mayweather to carry Conor and do all sorts of weird and funny ****. He ended up being lighted up at times despite Conor being quite the plodder who wouldn't even utilise power punching.
I expected the 40 year old version of Floyd to stand at the centre of the ring and just fight more just because of the magnitude of the event, whilst also using his defensive abilities. I saw him fight more, but looked rubbish.

McGregor is a top 10 ATG in boxing now. It's irrefutable.

Fighters train for different outcomes. If you believe that McGregor's only plan was to knock Floyd out, you don't know anything about the fight game. He said it to sell the fight.

Like I said before, inexperienced boxers start with 6 round fights, then 10, the finally 12. Conor went for the full 12. He doesn't know how to properly train for a 12 round fight because his lack of experience with the boxing game.

The straight to the body was the key punch for Floyd in the early rounds, i was suprised that Floyd didn't use his jab much.

I think we all owe Floyd a massive debt of gratitude, the debacle that was Mayweather-Pacquiao, combined with the atrocity that was Mayweather-McGregor, he single handedly not only killed, but mercilessly ruthlessly murdered with malice the despicable hated reviled thing called PPV as we know it. It is not only merely dead, but it's really most sincerely dead.

Thank You Floyd. You're The Best.:number_one:

He didnt really have to think, he was outboxing the stiff robot mayweather with ease.

Mayweather always avoided slick southpaws. We now know why

Conor only hit FMJ due to the height, reach and size advantage. That's all there is to it.
If FMJ went on the backfoot, it would have been a boring as **** fight with FMJ winning quite comfortably.
