As boxing fan I was hoping Mayweather would toy with McGregor, that we would see some classic moves, the pivot and check hook, the faints and switch hitting, make McGregor miss like a matador. Surely even a 40 year old could do this to any 0-0 fighter.....

Damn!!! Mcgregor was impressive, his timing is impeccable, I did not think an MMA fighter could out time FLOYD MAYWEATHER. I was excepting some rough house bordering on illegal tactics, but the dude can fight!! 0-0????

I need to digest this, but I really can't see how this is a victory for boxing. McGregor did better than Ricky Hatton FFS

Huh! you sound like Conor has never boxed before. His game is mostly boxing. He's just poor at it, as we found out tonight. He lost vs the smaller man, and got his arse kicked. I'm not a FMJ fan, just for the record. I'm a fan of boxing and boxing won the war tonight.

Wlad is only 4 months removed from pushing Joshua to the absolute brink over 10 completed rounds: all those guys would all get ruthlessly Steelhammered.

conor weighed in 1 lb under jmw limit, won rds vs the supposed best of the era, never been in a professional boxing match, but still managed a top 10 jmw looking performance... let that sink in.

Went exactly as i predicted it would when this fight was first announced. Fixed fight with both brands leaving with no harm done, especially for McGregor who still has a future.

How can any boxing fan watch that and not see it was being scripted? My word! You probably believed Iraq had WMD and a bunch of dirt farmers brought down 3 buildings with 2 planes leaving a pristine passport in the rubble. That's how dumb you have to be!

watch it again and look how PBF didnt fight.
he did no need the check hooks or the flashy defense if you watch it from the 4th he is just head hunting he knows he is in no trouble and does not need to do anything. he just sat there in rounds and took punches no need to bob and weave or do anything that we know he can. just sit there and take arm shots for 20 seconds and then go head hunting again

Getting in front of 30,000 people will also sap a lot of energy out of you. One of those things a first time fighter wouldn't be prepared for if he thought 12 rounds sparring would rival the main event.

This board is hilarious loool. The hate is real for Floyd in the states . This is a boxing forum so i will assume that we all expected Floyd to win, where is the displeasure coming from by some some of you. Floyd said the fight wouldnt go the distance and he was gonna go to him. This was light work throughout, you respect a man's alleged power but to see you lot excited during the fight is hilarious. Some of you really believed.

His game is striking. If you watch his fights, he disguise all his attacks the same way, whether it's punches or kicks. It's not the same as just throwing punches.

If he properly trained to fight 12 rounds, he would have outboxed Mayweather.

This was a win for mma, and I was hoping, betting on a Mayweather early ko. How embarrassing for Floyd and boxing to lose rounds and be dragged into deep waters against a guy with an 0-0 record pro or amateur.

Any amateur fighter who outweighs FMJ would tag FMJ at range when he's trying to bulrush you. Do you expect him to dodge every single punch, from a puncher when being aggressive? FMJ has never been aggressive at these higher weights. He could do it vs a non-boxer as he did tonight. Do you think FMJ would Bulrush Canelo, or GGG. He never even did it vs light punches like Berto.

As someone who was laughing at the delusional MMA fans, you are trying too hard. Conor doesn't devote his entire training to boxing. He came into another man's sport and was schooling Floyd until he tired. Floyd looked old and shitty. An old Conor against a prime Mayweather in MMA, Conor crushes him. This proved it even more.

Exactly....now he still schooled conor with the sweet science it was just the basic aspects like pace and stamina. It was easy work. Unfortunately it was mismatch but we knew that already, the media turned conor into bruce lee with a lights out left looool

I'm not trying anything. You sound like an angry MMA fan. FMJ walked through Conor tonight and knocked him the hell out? How does that make you feel?
