From what I've read it's all about who Bute opponent is next, Froch ain't American, lol how ironically Bute wasn't invited into the Super Six for the same reason.
So much for Froch making an impression on American boxing fans.He is delusional to believe he made himself a draw here.He did not.
At world level, Froch is not good to watch. Even more so now that he's supposedly realised how much easier he can make it for himself if he "listens to Robert McCracken". He's a busted flush stateside. Every fight since the Taylor one has been shite, and he's just lost a big fight too.
True. Not only that, but Matchroom is on a bit of a downfall with consecutive losses at the world level stage.
BIt harsh that mate his fight with Kessler was a great fight, and I thought the fight with JOhnson was a great fight too.
He's okay to watch against stationary targets but put him with a black slick Romanian and he looks like he's trying to punch a wasp. The Johnson fight was boring IMO as well. A completely shot Johnson gradually getting outworked, Zzzzzzz. The Ward fight was massive for Froch, he had to win that. If Ward had lost he would've been on the scrap heap to IMO.
People here are deliberately overlooking Bute. Andrade and Bika were both dangerous guys when he beat them. And not giving him any credit for Johnson, who he didn't lose a round to, yet crediting Froch for the win a few months earlier, reeks of bias. Bute is right up there. Ward has beaten the no.2. Now he can fight the no.3, it's not unprecedented and people need to stop saying 'he needs to prove himself', it's shocking.
Umm, he's tied up. Maybe not give him any more fights or pay him? Also, Bute's name WAS on the shortlist for the super six, it can be seen on the first documentary about it. Far as I know, it was Bute that turned it down.
I can understand showtime's position Froch is coming off a loss where he barely won a round. They don't want to see the same again and they quite possible would in this fight. Don't get me wrong I'm a big Froch fan, but he is limited in the skill and defence department!
the only reason they ever signed Bute was to have a unification match between him and the winner of the Super Six, it's not like the man's a draw for their network, so him fighting Froch makes his Showtime contract meaningless for why they ever signed him now that the Super Six has a winner Showtime does have new leadership at the moment that didn't sign Bute to the deal it should be noted.
Bute is in the last fight of his 3 fight deal and after keeping him ticking over for the first two, they now want him to fight the winner of the Super 6. It's nothing against Froch and Showtime are still happy to have him fight on their network imo. If Ward thinks Bute hasn't earned the right to fight him, I fancy he's going to get a rocket up his arse from Showtime. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to make a home and away fight for Bute v Ward considering what a pair of homers they are.
