Sadly it seems as much as we love Froch in the UK, he hasn't made a big enough impression on the US tv execs. If Froch's next fight is going to be a homecoming fight in the UK ( and in his case it really is a 'homecoming') why not box one of the best domestic super middleweights? Groves, Degale, Anderson even Jeffries would all be interesting fights. Realistically, Groves, and Anderson are tied up with each other, Jaffa is injured so what about Degale v Froch. Olympic champion v Former World champion. That,s the sort of fight that would get the whole country talking.
:yikes Jeffries is kak. None of the domestic SMW's or even LHW's would step into the ring with Froch.
Jeffries might as well retire, go back to working at the hot dog stand at Sunderland FC. He's going nowhere as a pro boxer. Sorry, but.... he's just awful.
Jaffa doesn't half get some stick doesn't he. I think he'll prove people wrong when he's injury free. But more importantly what about Degale v Froch? That would be a mega fight. Public interest would be huge and technically they match up well.
Froch failed to deliver last time out, and in fact every time out barring Kessler/Abraham. Why would they want to show a 35-year-old failure with multiple losses (Dirrell, Kessler, Ward etc) and multiple schoolings (Taylor, Dirrell, Ward etc)?
That doesn't mean he actually was invited. Showtime/Ken has made a extended list with possible fighters to be invited. Don't you think it's normal to add the #2 ranked SMW back then? It's just when selected for the national team you are presented with an extended list that the coach is choosing for later. It doesn't mean they made the cut. The prove he never was invited : KEN HERSHMAN (The Man Who Made S6) said at the announcement of the Super Six that This content is protected KEN HERSHMAN (The Man Who Made S6 said when they signed a contract with Bute that This content is protected
I would pay good money to see Froch/DeGale. But I can't see Frank being too keen on it somehow, especially given his struggles with Wilczewski last time out. DeGale will be matched up very carefully from now on, even by Frank's standards. Also, DeGale was seemingly too afraid to even spar with Froch, so I doubt he'd be happy with the fight being made. Groves might go for it, he seems to have a backbone at least. But it's still too soon.
