You're right. I dont know where people come off with these assumptions. Bute's an overrated bum who only has wins against bigger bums. Froch instead has losses against two all time greats who declined fighting said bum. Betting on Froch is easy money :hey.
If showtime rejected this fight, and I have my doubts they did/would, it has to be because of their budget. This is simply one of the biggest fights that can be made in boxing. Much bigger then ward vs bute or dawson vs pascal or anyother combination of the four fighters. With the exception of fighting mayweather at a catchweight(which would never happen) ward can't get a bigger fight. The reason that I doubt showtime rejected this fight is that I would think they would go to hbo first and they damn sure won't reject it.
Showtime still has that one fight left with Bute if i remember it correctly. Magee and Johnson fights were on Showtime.
:huh :nod Bute has one fight left with them, unsure about Ward. You would think Showtime has a serious option or grasp over the winner of their damn tourney, wouldn't ya?! Hershman can be impatient all he wants, he's just gonna have to tell the HBO bosses to wait.
Pascal's purses have been WAY higher than Dawson's. You may think Ward-Dawson would be a bigger fight but you have nothing to prove your point. In terms of boxing, it would certainly. Money speaking, it wouldn't. And even in terms of boxing, Ward has to be logical with his own words. Bute had to face someone strong before in order to make a bigger fight. Well, the same applies to him. Face Bute first, then the Dawson fight will be bigger.
Ward has began the talks with Dawson before the fight against Hopkins. That means Ward DID run his career on an assumption.
Showtime rejects Ward vs. Dawson They not Want Bute vs Froch, not suprising they dont want this snooze fest.
Ward-Dawson wouldn't be a chess match. Dawson has a very long reach so the only way Ward would play that fight would be to go inside, to push Dawson on the ropes and grab, hit one shot until the ref orders the break. Let's begin again: Ward comes inside, grabs, push, lands one punch with no power, grabs, the ref orders the break. Dawson is not bright enough to adapt to Ward, who, unlike Hopkins, has enough energy and speed to apply that gameplan). 12 rounds like that. I would watch it but my expectations would be very low.
I would watch it too.....I even watch Wladimir's fights. But I want to see Pascal vs Dawson 2 and Bute vs Ward. Ward is pretty good and rugged but I can't stand Dawson, so talented but so lazy in a ring, he fight without passion.
