I think Demarco is moving to the wrong side. If he moves to the other side he will have more chances to connect

Maybe he's trying to shorten up Valero's left, so he doesn't get full extension.

How? He hoping Valero will punch himself out? DeMarco looks tight and tentative to me.

Demarco is starting to throw better jabs and has been quite good defensively. Valero is getting tired.. but if he can keep up the pressure he should win.

    Round 5

Demarco is back into his calm self as Valero comes forward. Valero's left hand is beginning to widen out and that means Demarco could get a nice counter opportunity soon. Valero lands a looping left that causes Tony to fall into the ropes. Valero with a straight right that Demarco doesn't like. Valero and Demarco trade and miss with the pace picking up. Demarco lands some inside body punches, Valero counters with a five punch combo that catches air. Demarco comes forward and Valero throws more combinations. Valero and Demarco stand toe to toe and throw a lot of wild punches going nowhere. Valero with a nice long left that catches Demarco on the ear. Valero tees off with 4 punches and lands 2, Demarco comes back with the straight right hand but it's not doing much. A slight clinch and a lull. Valero with more quick combinations that seem to land at about a 50% rate. Demarcochasing as Valero moves. Demarco holds his hands up and tells Valero to bring it but nothing doing as the round ends. Valero again.

    49-45 for Valero.

I agree with Ricky, but I think Demarco's so worried about Valero's power he doesn't feel comfortable enough to his left and make a misstep into a huge right hook.

After 5, I have it 49-45 Valero (4 rounds to Valero, 1 to Demarco, minus 1 point for the accidental elbow).

OOooo the little *******s gett'n mad..

Back to fight. Valero got some good defense for a so called one dimensional slugger. He is rolling punches and using his guard very well. Opposite of..

Demarco getting more accurate this round, caught him with a good straight left at the bell. I think his plan is to land the right hook-left straight combo.

Round 5: Valero landing hard shots at will now, and showing very surprising defense, blocking and slipping 90% of Demarco's punches. Valero wins this round easily, although Demarco looks mostly unfazed by Valero's power so far.

Maybe so, or til he starts getting sloppy. Demarco is definitely tentative, but he's doing some effective work in there and keeping his composure.

watching demarco made me miss morales... he would have done better than this kid against valero just like he did against pac.
