Round 5 Valero's combos getting wider and looping now. DeMarco trying to come down the center aisle but is discouraged by Valero's constant hand movement. They announce the judges' cards per open scoring - Valero well ahead. 50-44 Valero (5 rounds plus the point deduction for the unintentional foul on DeMarco)
Round Six Valero on the move now as Demarco is coming forward. Demarco misses a wide 1-2 and Valero looks too slick (OF ALL THINGS). Demarco needs to put that whole "testing his stamina" thing to work now as Valero lands a lot of punches. Alstache says Valero reminds him of the younger version of Manny Pac. I want what he's snorting....actually I'd like double of that. As he says that Valero lands a Manny Pac-esque straight left. Demarco storms back and lands some punches to little effect. Demarco throws an off balance uppercut that nearly made me spit my drink out. Valero with a nice over the top left on Demarco. Demarco with a CRISP right hook. Demarco coming forward and Valero is tying up. Valero didn't like that right hook at all! Demarco needs to let his hands go, HE'S GOT A DEAD MAN IN FRONT OF HIM!!!!! Valero throws more flashy combinations as Demarco continues to pick his spots and give up rounds in the process. 59-54 for Valero.
Demarco too inactive even with a monster right hook that made Valero tie him up. Too much volume from El Inca. Demarco's corner wants him to prevent Valero from landing off lateral movement. After 6, I have it 59-54 Valero (5 rounds to Valero, 1 to Demarco, minus 1 point for the accidental elbow).
Valero up 6-0. I don't know what DeMarco's waiting for. Valero's hands are at his waist and he rushes in behind a single jab every time.
Round 6 DeMarco coming on. He's figuring out slowly but surely how to time Valero's rhythm to make him miss without needing to languish on the outside. He's still getting hit enough for Valero to score points but he's getting closer to solving the puzzle. A good hook lands for DeMarco and visibly increases his confidence. I'll give this one to DeMarco; announcers thought Valero got it but his work this round was far sloppier than it has been. 59-54 Valero
Round 6: This round a little bit closer, and Demarco lands a hard right hook flush, but Valero wins it with his higher volume and agressiveness.
demarco is getting hit right now... he should stay off the ropes! i think he's afraid of valero's punches.
Valero's pressure befuddling Demarco. El Inca with a beautiful double left hook, then stepping back to make DeMarco miss his counter, then Valero following up with a right jab-left cross (both land). Valero lands most of an 8-punch combo. Wow. After 7, I have it 69-63 Valero (6 rounds to Valero, 1 to Demarco, minus 1 point for the accidental elbow)
