Tenth and FINAL round... Gutierrez bores in with his shoulders loose and his gloves at his sides, Abregu books it to the corner, Gutierrez unloads with hooks to the body. Abregu fighting for distance. Gutierrez comes straight at him and misses several shots. Abregu tries to tie him up but doesn't have the wind/strength, as Gutierrez shakes him loose and misses some more shots. Abregu is a bit twiggy in the legs, it's probably good for his sake that this isn't scheduled for 12. Gutierrez posturing and loading up power punches but not landing much of significance. A nice counter bolo hook lands for Abregu as Gutierrez steps into him. Abregu UD (they already announced the judges' open scores at the end of round 8...even if Gutierrez swept 9 and 10 on all three cards, which he shouldn't have - he loses).
Fun fight to start things off. Occasionally Abregu reminds me of Morales in the face. I think it's wet hair crazy schnoz combo. I had it 6-4 for Abregu. Valero vs DeMarco up next. I'm psyched. Andre Dirrell vs The King preview up right now. That fight could be a real snoozer if Dirrell "boxes" ala Froch and Stevens.
Man I cannot WAIT for Dirrell vs Abraham. Really hope Dirrell opens JUST up a bit more and outboxes him.
Other than the hair and schnoz combo the only thing Abregu has in common with Morales is the fighter's mentality. His talent level is, needless to say, about 10% of El Terrible's.
