One of the ugliest fights I've ever seen, that totally sucked, I may have to rethink Porter I used to think of him as a mauling spastic now I realize it's worse than that

 

anyone get the vibe from the post fight interview that Thurman didn't want to talk up Errol Spence or saying yes to a Porter rematch? The dude simply said, "oh talk to Al Haymon"....never said yes. in PBC language...meaning no.

 

Porter actually fought "better" defensively than he's had in the past. Still wide open for a sharp puncher but against the very stiff and wobbly (mostly from head butts) Berto.

I might see Thurman doing better than he had before and beating him very clearly, possibly late tko. Porter is just a level or a few below the top of divisions. Very game but just too sloppy and under skilled, especially for ww atm.

Let's see, guaranteed losses are Spence, brook and Thurman. Pretty sure he could be the + vs the rest. Still some others could best him on any given night

 

I cannot believe the articles claiming Porter destroyed Berto, believe it or not it is possbile to be aggressive and clean at the same time but not with Porter, that was just ugly. Imagine being Berto in that fight, being headbutted repeatedly and not being able to do anything about it. Porters style is clearly built to compensate for the other holes in his game and will never be a top WW fighter. Really disappointed about this fight, not worth the hours I stayed up to watch it in the UK.

If anything I give props to Berto, in staying somewhat in the fight despite Porters criminal tactics and not getting that frustrated minus the rabbit punches.

Also, whats with Virgil not coming in the ring between rounds, I think he did it during Ward Kovalev. Along with recent interviews he's really beginning to creep me out....

 

Going from watching this fight to the Valdez fight, like two entirely different sports. How was porter not warned for repeated butts, his head clashing was literally his best weapon in there.

Berto had zero dog left in him. He's made way too much $$$ compared to his talents, having that type of bank makes it impossible for Berto to try by any and all means.

He accepted defeat way too easily tonight. Porter proved to be more hungry and have a much better butt than a mentally totally faded (worse than physically) fighter.

Berto should not be allowed to fight again.. Unless it's an up and comer with legit talent, someone to take Berto out properly
