pretty close fight going into the 11th 5-5 or 6-4 I'd say. the thing is people cant have it go way. Stevenson being a bum. And Gvozyk being the best. the best wouldn't have such a close fight vs a bum. I think Gvozdyk is 1/4

He didn't even look close to as gassed against Fonfara or Bika. C'mon be honest with yourself. The dude was 41. No fighter is even close to their best at 41. Even Bhop at 41 who was super effective, wasn't the same guy in his 30's.

I just hope that his lineal championship reign differs from the previous incumbent by either agreeing to unify against the other titleholders. Or, at least, face consistently good opposition from start to finish, instead of taking a three year hiatus from facing truly legit contenders.

 

Of course he wasn't at his best, I'm just saying that he has always had a suspect gas tank, had this fight taken place 4-5 years ago it would have been a different story most likely. I still give Gvozdzyk credit because Stevenson isn't shot, he looked very sharp tonight for the most part.

 

His chin is solid. He ate a flush left hand from Stevenson flew into the ropes and was slung back up on his feet. He seemed to get his wits back about him in a fairly quick manner. If he had a bad chin, he would have been all over the ring doing the Cotto shuffle.

 

Now, all champions at LHW have no draw, so they should obviously try to unify since it will be their way to get some money.

He was gassed against Fonfara, noticeably, he was dropped by him too.

Stevenson was always better than the forum let on. if he sucks so bad. then Gvozdyk beat someone who sucked.

he beat a good older fight in a close fight. fought to a game plan stuck to it. but he's not automaticly the best yet.

 

I think Stevenson is 62.
