Showtime subscribers need to tell espinoza what a joke Garcia's fight is

This is Garcia's first easy fight since 2012(ancient Erik Morales). It's simple, don't tune in and stop bitching.

 

That's the result of Arum lacking options and being arrogant.

 

As much as I don't think Algieri merits a fight with Pacquiao at this point, there can be no comparison.

Algieri is a titlist. He beat a boogeyman of the division, granted, controversially. But there is a big, big difference between fighting even a new, relatively unproven titlist and grabbing a guy from the lower ranks and trying to sell him as a legit opponent. I still don't get it. And I like Danny Garcia. I just don't get this fight. Makes no sense.

 

I composed a letter quite some time ago in protest of this fight card. Espinoza's comments on Twitter seem to indicate that he wasn't the impetus for this fight. Basically Garcia, Jacobs, Peterson all have Haymon contracts and want to be paid. Instead of spending resources on quality opposition, they found the cheapest options on the market.

I agree with a previous poster when he said this isn't a "free" fight. I subscribe to Showtime only for boxing. I would venture that a good portion of the $15 monthly charge goes directly to these fighters' purses. So it isn't free.

I didn't know anybody who actually liked this card. I was stunned to see a few people on this board defending this slate of mismatches. Fans of Floyd = fans of Haymon = fans of Garcia = fans of bad fights.

I see some folks are critical of Kovalev's fight against Caparello. The difference is that nobody out there wanted to fight Kovalev. He was willing to fight Stevenson. Kovalev is in a similar spot to GGG in that he's wildly popular among hardcore fans but hasn't translated into great box office success.

 

Herrera was supposed to be easy but it wasnt....it was a cherry pick gone wrong///nice try to justify it though atsch

 

Fletcher is a bum he got his glass jaw shattered by Saunders.

You have not cancelled your subscription yet and you are encouraging everyone else to cancel in protest.

Why would you start a thread such as this if you don't have the moral fortitude to support it?!!!

You're going have to shell out 70 bucks to watch Pacquiao beat a strap holder from a division below.

If you already have a showtime subscription you wont have to pay another penny to watch Garcia and Peterson fight stay busy fights to the unification bout later in the year.

You also get to see a nice little title bout between Fletcher-Jacobs

 

Herreras biggest win was the same as Algieris biggest win...
