I’m very confused as to why this isn’t on DAZN. I don’t want to just be shown one ****ing fight on Showtime’s Youtube channel

I knew it wouldn't be long before DAZN either raised their price or pulled some other bull$hit. This fight was supposed to be on DAZN and now they are selling off the rights to any higher bidder.Their upcoming schedule is awful so it's time to cancel.

B/c he who pays the piper calls the tune.

Showtime will call the tune for the Wilder v Fury sweepstakes winner (at least in terms of ensuring they're in the bus when a Joshua fight gets made).

Is it not on DaZN as well lol!

So weird but if that's the case Mismatchroom isn't exclusive with DAZN and vice versa

Is Mismatchroom biting the hand that feeds them?

Does seem very odd that it isn't on DAZN or that DAZN doesn't have exclusive rights to this Matchroom fight. I know Joshua wasn't part of the Matchroom deal with DAZN but I'd have assumed Whyte would of been included. Maybe there are intricacies of the deal we are not aware of. Maybe because it's a PPV fight, maybe DAZN only has exclusive rights on non PPV Matchroom cards.

This can’t go unnoticed.. why not broadcast the fight that might produce the next opponent for your HW Champion.. Is the initial financial losses already having the investors thinking about small short term financial gains..

yeah its gonna be something like this. theres never many 'good' non PPV fights on these days. for a full card anyway.
maybe the DAZN subscribers can watch the british olympians in a few years time lol

It's shyte. They are both ducking guys like Povetkin and Ortiz and Big Baby (who is ducking them as well because he might win the AJ sweepstakes). Not happy about any of it.

That's why it's on Showtime..... More people are going to watch Whyte fight on Showtime now , he will have more exposure and will be a bigger fight on DAZN should Whyte win and go that route.

Hearns not stupid he knows what he's doing and that's attracting more buyers in the long run , I suspect he doesn't care as long as Joshua opponents get more exposure the end result is Joshua fights on DAZN........Miller ? Well Hearns keeping him active at least the guy wouldn't be fighting at all and waiting for Joshua if he wasn't on DAZN...lol

Wilder has no loyalty to Showtime and neither does Haymon. If Showtime put up the most money, they get the fight. If they are outbid by the likes of Fox, ESPN or DAZN, they won't.

It doesn't seem like the soundest idea if you ask me.

Matchroom USA cards have been shockingly poor, Matchroom UK regular sky shows are even worse lol. What does matchroom bring if they aren't bulking it up with the PPV shows?

DaZN already has Golden boy, Bellator and WBSS. Maybe they get K2 and a few smaller players and ditch matchroom all together?

DaZN subscribers can't be happy with this imo

It's going to be on at 5pm, they will be lucky to get 300k tune in.

    Some interesting counter points:
Golden Boy has: Canelo, Ryan Garcia, Munguia, Linares and Rey Vargas. Not a bad cast but not a lot of big stars either. Linares for example is well known, but not a big draw. Before DAZN(thanks to Canelo), GBP was forced to do fights on Facebook and ESPN2. They are not the powerhouse they once were.
K2 has: Golovkin, Braekhus and Usyk(?). Usyk is already with DAZN. Golovkin is his own man and nobody really cares about Braekhus, who is looking to retire anyways.

And there are rumours that the WBSS is in financial troubles.

No one out there has a massive stable filled with big names. Why ditch Matchroom for a few smaller promoters?

In boxing, there is quality in quantity. DAZN needs to keep signing more promoters, not cut them. Get GBP and Matchroom to work together. Find even more talent.

Thats 300K more or whatever the numbers are then what DAZN subs would tune into at night.bc its still growing and developing....If its a good fight that lives up to the first or is better those 300K viewers will want to see them again and if it turns out to be Whyte vs Joshua on DAZN they know where to go.....

The first Whyte vs Chisora fight was supposed to be on Showtime until they scrapped it , they saw the mistake they made!
