Povetkin couldn't knock out guys like Rudenko and Hammer and even't though Miller and Whyte aren't elite, they would still trouble Povetkin.
Didn't say he'd knock them out tbf. Not sure what Millers chin is like but at the very least I expect Pov to UD them.
Joshua, love him or hate him, is an Olympic Gold SHW, who has become the best and most well known of the current crop of Champs. Parker has a solid global fanbase of his own, and the deepest resume of the 4. Wilder is a Showtime Champ. Surely they're trying to raise Wilders profile among the US casual base. Farhood will probably be mentioning Wilder in between each Rd, before and after the fight. Wilder will probably do color comments and call it for a few rds. Obviously trying to build up aWilder PPV vs Joshua/Parker winner for 2019
I think he's fighting Povetkin next. Jarrell miller needs to drop 150 pounds to qualify for a title shot.
Wilder should have taken the Povetkin fight. I know the dude was juiced to the grills but still, at 6''7 and his punching power, Wider should have no problem disposing Povetkin. As overrated as Povetkin is, I think a victory over him would added legitimacy to Wilder belt and would have given leverage in negotiation with Joshua.
No, I don't think even that would help. Joshua is the man, plain and simple. He has the superstar package right now and him KOing Wlad sealed the deal. If Joshua really wants to hit it home he can just beat up on Fury, who won't be ready ever again, and claim ultimate supremacy in the division. Wilder's team failed to promote him properly. There is a generation gap with the Black youth and the heavyweight division in America since the fall of Mike Tyson. Mayweather was on the way out and Wilder's team could have took advantage of a chance to promote the heavyweight champion but they failed and now it's too late in the game.
I don't think is too late for Wilder. His face was all over the web after his destruction of Stierve. I think I saw that video on worldstarhiphop, yahoo news, espn, even the dude on Breakfast club talked about it. Now if Wilder can follow up that performance and destroy Ortiz in an emphatic fashion, the press will have no choice but to pay him the attention that he feels he deserves. You're right though, Joshua is the man in the division and it is what it is. But still, Wilder and his team has a chance to leverage what was lost. Wilder has to beat Ortiz and he must look good doing it to force the public to demand the Joshua fight.
Agreed, he’s a fatter Whyte. To me the Wach fight was a wash, didn’t raise his stock because of Wach’s injury and lack of movement. The only American heavy who has any business stepping in with Joshua is Wilder. Period.
