    HBO/Arum may have created the blueprint for building up fighters on spoon-fed opponents, but GBP was looking to take it to the next level by using Showtime/Espinoza to leverage even bigger $$$ for those easy fights. Looking at HBO's last two big cards and those coming up, HBO easily has the more competitive cards, while Showtime has mainly marquee fighters against walk-over opponents.

    Brook vs Alexander- step up fight for Brooks. A chance for Brook to prove how good he is depending on his perfomance

    Lucas vs Peterson- some clarity at 140. See if the Lucas hype is real

    Garcia vs Judah- another intriguing fight at 140.

    Mares vs De Leon- no explantion needed

    Showtime has given us:

    Abril vs lion dude.


    Not really even a question who is winning right now

    Its not that hard if you talk to them through the telephone(not ordering via remote control or the internet). Those reps are able to give package deals, typically the ones they give to new customers, to keep your business.

    What about Alvarez vs. Trout? This fight will determine if Alvarez is good enough to beat a boxer and if Trout is good enough to beat a young unbeaten fighter. The fight will also give some clarity as to who the best fighter is at junior middleweight. What about Maidana vs. Lopez as another fight of the year candidate? And what about Marez vs. Ponce de Leon to see if the young star is truly ready for the higher weights. Not to mention, Mares will be risking it all against one of the toughest fighters in the division. I could go on regarding the other fights I posted....

    I think that GBP and Top Rank will go the route of creating tournament style matches among their fighters, especially in divisions where their fighters are numerous. While at it, they will force fighters from the rival company to move out of the division. For example, this is already happening in the junior welterweight division as GBP fighters such as Garcia, Judah, Matthyse, Peterson, and Khan are been linked to fight each other by the end of the year. In the meantime, Top Rank fighters in the same division such as Rios and Alvarado are either going to fight each other or move up to welterweight where there are more Top Rank elite fighters to fight.

    Competition can be very good. It looks like HBO is going more international. They've had GGG and are airing both Kessler/Froch (both largely built domestically by Showtime) and Bute/Pascal and Martinez.

    One network swhowcasing the best domestic talent and another showcasing the best the world has to offer sounds great to me.
