March 26th, 2008 - TheKnockoutNetwork.com Yesterday, I Blogged about reports in the UK press about a WBC super lightweight title fight between Junior Witter and top rated Timothy Bradley. According to the reports, the bout has been agreed to and is tentatively scheduled for May 10, likely somewhere here in the States. I exchanged emails today with Gordon Hall, the Vice President of Production for Showtime Sports and Events Programming, about Showtime airing Witter-Bradley. We would like to cover that fightand I have spoken to Mark Hennessey (Witters promoter) about covering it, was his answer. Now, this is not official by any means - but it now looks likely that Showtime will be airing Witter-Bradley on May 10 (or May 24 - more on that later). I hope so. Witter desperately needs the exposure in the US to get the big money fights and ultimately Hatton.
Bradley is hardly the type of name Witter should be facing in order to get a match with Hatton, this really shows up why Hatton is not prepared to face Witter and Hatton is utterly right to stay away from Witter. Witter has done nothing to prove he is worthy of facing Hatton. 8)
Bradley is Junior Witter's mandatory. While Hatton is taking an optional fight against Juan Lazcano. Lazcano being a fighter who hasn't fought in over a year, since losing to Vivian Harris. The same Vivian Harris who Witter sparked out in his last bout. Hatton is fighting Witter's leftover's leftovers. :deal

Its time for Junior Witter to use this to angle for a Junior Witter vs Miguel Cotto match up. Although this wont do it alone, Witter would be able to springboard to Welterweight fights Dominic Ingle said they cant find a Welterweight yet who is willing to take him on, but a Showtime win would go some way in achieving that, plus maybe a match with ricardo Torres seems a possibilty. But Cotto should be Witter's new target, instead of The Shitman.

Actually on his WW path he should fight Matthew Hatton and actually kill him in the bout like in Rocky IV so Ricky has to avenge his brothers loss, only to state reasons HBO dont want the fight.
