This crap is ridiculous. Broadcast time is 10pm-1:30am Really? Why can't they at least start it an hour earlier? I mean, is starting it at 5pm or 6pm Vegas time really that much different to them??? Because it's a huge difference to people on the East Coast.
Yeah, I'm an east-coaster and I hear you. Shame they don't do it like HBO and replay the fight Sunday morning. With Showtime you don't know when they will show it again. Gotta bite the bullet and stay up, but at 56 it ain't as easy as it used to be. Really want to see this one. Hopefully the prelims will end early and get this show on the road at a decent time
I for one am glad since I live on the US West Coast but that puts me in the minority. Whenever Showtime doesn't have a late start time, they tape delay it out here and the delay is never less than the 3 hour time difference (logical, I know, but why not just 1 or 2?) and it has even been longer than 3 hours before... so you have to stay off the internet those 3 hours to avoid spoilers too.
It's harder for the Brits as well. If it started a couple hours earlier, they wouldn't have to stay up 'til 5am. It's really, really moronic.
What is the difference to y'all between a 5pm start time and a 7pm start time? I'd like to hear a really well constructed argument from you.
That's another thing...don't you have to pay extra for Showtime Extreme even if you have regular Showtime?
I experienced that when I was out in California the week around the time of Vitali vs Peter and Hopkins vs Pavlik. Although I forget if I was watching the fights really early, or if we were avoiding the internet in those cases, or maybe 1 of each? Nothing like going to a bar at 10 am for a beer and an omelette to watch some football Sunday morning, though. :smoke
