Just watched his fight on the Broner-Maidana undercard and MAN he's a bigass ****ing light heavyweight who packs some serious whallop behind his punches, vicious body puncher too, he had that poor guy fighting for survival since the opening bell. Hopkins at 50 years of age is stepping in with a young lion on April 19 and mark my words he will get completely dominated, I'm not saying he will get knocked out, he will probably survive the fight but he's gonna receive the worst beating of his life.

I've watched all of his fights spare for his first couple.

I'm a big Shumenov fan and have been disappointed by his treading water over the last 2.5 years.

I think he has a much better chance than Murat did and as good of a chance as most people felt Cloud had over Hopkins (I foolishly believed Cloud would win at the time). But he will be the rightful underdog.

It'll be more interesting to see how Hopkins goes about fighting him, and especially early before Shumenov has gassed, more so than I'll be interested in if Hopkins wins or not. I think Hopkins gets bruised and works his ass off for it but I think he'll take a comfortable, or at least decisive, decision.

I don't see that happening at all, he fought Uzelkov, the same guy who KO'd Prime Campillo in 100 degree weather in an outdoor arena in Nevada and maintained a crazy high work rate for 10 Rounds straight with no signs of let down in the last round.

That was a good performance. Shumenov got dropped in round 2 (if I remember) then came back to drop Uzelkov and sweep the whole fight from that point on.

Shumenov gassed mightily after the midway point or earlier in both of his fights against Campillo.

Hopkins is leagues ahead of Campillo and more comparable with him in the way they fight and despite the H2H result, Campillo is overall better than Uzelkov was.

Tough to say. Impossible to really judge where he stands on that, if he's improved, based on Shumenov's activity and competition level.

I think Hopkins will win but it's not the easy fight that some people think it is.

Shumenov knows and has said that this fight will be no walk in the park. Out of all the upcoming Slavic fighters, Shumenov is about to get the highest test.
GGG, Kovalov, and Bute have never faced this level of opponent.
My hat goes out to Shumenov for attempting to achieve more than all the others, in the least amount of time.

That being said, I see Hopkins winning by MD.

Slavs are an ethnic group whom originate from Eastern Europe around the area of modern day Ukraine. Shumenov is Kazakh, which is a Turkic ethnicity whom are closely related to Mongols in culture and genetics.

After this weekend, win or lose, he will be the fore-runner.
He should gain lots of valuable experience from this fight. If he wins, he'll be the man to beat.
If he loses, he will still have faced the stiffest opposition of the new up and coming bangers.
