I think that we might just be right regarding this one. The thing is that Boxing is supposed to be a sport not just a hyping moneymachine. In order for boxing to be a sport the weight classes have to make sense. It doesn't make sense that someone who's natrually just maybe 200 pounds has to compete with a person weighing 280 pounds. This would create more competitive fights I think since we'd have fighters from the junior cruiserweight division bulking up to fight at cruiserweight, big heavyweights draining themselves to make the cruiserweight limit and natrual cruiserweights slugging it out in that division. The design behind the weight divisions was always to protect the smaller guys from the bigger ones, it's only logical that men in the 190-215 pound size have their own division to compete in. The fact that the dominant heavyweights are weighing in at 250 for their fights proves that size is too much of an advantage in the heavyweight division and that a lighter division is therefor called for. Me and Tommo might very well be wrong on this one, I'm not perfect and neither is he probably but if someone has a conflicting opinion then please voice it without using the word "idiot", such name calling is hardly constructive.
This whole thing is bs anyway, look at Michael Grant or Audley Harrison, both 6'6" 260 of Solid muscle... Both got beaten by 218 Guinn.
I think after the Klitschkos retire things will be clearer. If another giant heavy comes along to dominate, then yes, we have to acknowledge that times have changed and we have a new division to deal with. But if another ordinary heavyweight takes over, it will restore the old order. We've had giant flashes in the pan before: Jess Willard was not a sign of things to come. Primo Carnera was not a sign of things to come. We will see what happens after the K's and go from there.
Dude its because fighters are bums saller heavyweights dont fight small anymore. they heavyweights today are horrible
