Of course he will. This fight will never get done. The only way it gets done is if Arum is out of the picture or if Floyd publically states a willingness to do a 50/50 split. Arum is 82, so there is a better chance of him leaving the picture than there is of Mayweather accepting a 50/50 split.

On average hes making 406k+ sales per fight. Which at $60 is about $ 24 M if all those fights were priced at $60. How much of that $24M does he keep after tv companies and promotion. Probably not that much or not enough to demand a huge percentage of a mega fight

Fine, then simply calculate his per fight average above 135.

    This works both ways though.

A fighter who fights twice as often is half as valuable. If Mayweather had fought 15 times and Pacquiao had fought 9 times, they would do the same average. Mayweather's would be much small and Pacquiao's would be much higher.

Now do you see the logic of only doing recent numbers? As in my past 3 years proposal??

Right 6 more ppv appearances garnered only 300,000 sales difference... That shows that mayweather is a bigger draw...

What kindy of lazy ass non analytical scholarship are they promoting at si

Look, I have no idea how much of this revenue is left over for the fighters. What I do know is that Mayweather and De La Hoya split about $80M for their fight. If we bump that up to $100M, and Manny is getting $40M, that leaves $60M for Mayweather. That's a $20M difference.

Maybe they should put a cap on it. Floyd gets X amount more. As the extra sales are due to the mega fight which involves them both

**** all that look at the numbers of the 5 common opponents... That way the star power of the opponent is nullified....

Mayweather wins easily and even this article states mayweather does better numbers (although not by much)

    Either way mayweather deserves 60%

No, that logic is still flawed. Counting his numbers above 135 makes sense, because his drawing power dramatically shifted once he left 135. It just so happens that he left 135 in 2009. Mayweather's drawing power dramatically shifted in 2007. Quite simply put, Mayweather's drawing power in 2007 is reflective of his drawing power now. Therefore, calculate his per fight average from that timeframe on. Manny's drawing power starting with the De La Hoya fight, is reflective of his drawing power now. Therefore, calculate Pacquiao's per fight average from the Hoya fight on.

This fight needs to be 50/50, PPV sells should not determine the purses. You have arguably the 2 best fighters ranked in the sport which is really what should determine the split. PPV and all this profit made by it is one of the major killers of the sport. Promoters and now fighters have been using it as leverage for years to either make or break some of the best fights in boxing.

Bunch of idiots don't realize that this is all irrelevant. The only question is , "What are they worth for THIS fight". Article touches on it but most of these guys won't read it or will ignore that part.

it is foolish for pac or anyone to accept a fix purse. this fight would break all records. arum knows this taht's why he counter-offered $50M under the same terms that floyd has offered pac.
