Noted. I read different things in different sources. My whole point was that the law of diminishing returns was not a good example to use to explain why Mayweather is a bigger draw.

I think the poster might have been better served using scarcity, but then the argument becomes subjective. One could conclude that even with Manny fighting twice a year, his product is relatively scarce. No one can truly predict when Pacquiao will indeed fight again. He could retire at any time. There is a presumed scarcity. What boxing fan wants to miss what could indeed be Manny's last fight?

  2. PAC dont even need under cards while Floyd had the most popular least dangerous fighters,
Ortiz comin off highest rated Hbo fight -berto v ortiz
Over 20 % of Floyds total PPV numbers are vs Oscar.
    CANELO good for 300k

On his own Pac is #1 global draw.

Why starting in 2007, though? Were they not on PPV before that time?

I do like that idea - it's really the only way to find out (down to the hundredth decimal) of how the revenue should be split.

Interesting, I thought Pacquiao for sure had broken 10million, 10.1M precisely.

9.9M is still more than Oscar had at the same age, 9.5M (at 33 years old), and Pac had one less event.
There is nothing anyone can say that can take away from how incredible that stat is, knowing where both guys came from.

Damn, wrote such a great post ESB ate up.

Basically, you assholes are arguing about purses. Yes, Floyd is the bigger draw. But remember when you *****s where arguing about OSDT and purses were never the issue. 50/50 was fine and dandy. Now when OSDT is all resolved, the purse splits are an issue again. And you degenerate ****s are bickering about purses now. Unbelievable. For what then? Following Floyd's new roadblock mantra? Don't see why Floyd can't just accept 50/50 with such a big pot. Larry questioned him on this and he dodges the question and talks about the non-issue of OSDT. I think Pac is warranted in asking for 50-50 considering Floyd tarnished his image and his forcing him to take OSDT or look like a drug cheat. 10% to the winner would seem like the best solution, though.

    Most important piece of article.

*****s say Pac's early PPV fights have no significance because it was long ago and should look at current trends in determining purse split. It should be ignored that Pac has been a PPV attraction longer than Floyd.

They also say Floyd should be the Fighter of the Decade because Floyd has been a Top P4P much longer than Pac, who didn't become a Top P4P fihter til the mid 2000s.

For the same reason *****s use the reasoning that Floyd's been P4P longer than Pac as their claim to him being the true Fighter of the Decade.

    Floyd deserves a 65/35...he'll conceed to a 60/40 though..as we have seen $40,000,000 is $15,000,000 more Pac's highest payday of $25,000,000.

The TOTAL numbers. Does it clearly favor one over the other?

As what the article cited, the numbers are comparable.
