Siliga is 47 and while he has certainly seen better days he's seen a bit of a career resurgence in MMA since his kickboxing career took a turn for the worst around a decade ago. Starting in 2013 he went on a surprising run in Bellator, going 3-0 researching the semi-finals against Alexander Volkov where he succumbed to a brutal highlight reel highkick KO. That was his final fight in the promotion and he went on to suffer 2 more subsequent losses before signing with the South Korean based org Road FC where he appears to have carved a nice little niche for himself. Since then(2015) he's gone 6-0 over regional tomato cans(including a first rd KO against longtime rival Hong Mon Choi whom he went 1-1 with in kickboxing) Yvel is considerably younger at 41 but he's been far more inactive fighting only 3 times since his 0-3 UFC run back in 2010 - winning all 3 by stoppage. He retired sometime after his 2012 KO over former UFC vet Houston Alexander but return to the cage in late 2016 with a first rd stoppage(injury) to the very shopworn but once extremely formidable ex-UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriquez. This is his first fight since then. Even though this is a fight that probably would have meant more 10-15 years ago it's nice little nostalgic matchup between two big punchers who's styles jell very well together. Who do you guys got? Yeah I think he needs/needed the money. He returned in 2015 after a near 6 year hiatus and had about 5 fights between MMA and kickboxing over the span of a year or so. Ended up going 2-3 with two losses coming by brutal KO. This content is protected This content is protected Hasn't fought since this ill-fated 5 fight run and I hope it stays that way.
This content is protected Holy ****ing ****. Crazy fight. Spoiler: *fight result* Yvel armbar'd Mo. Breaking his arm because the notoriously tough Samoan refused to tap.
