I mostly agree with the above :good and we have the same prediction that PBF will win this one...

With this I have to make a compromise... This is indeed a SERIOUS... tune up fight...:thumbsup

Marquez is going to surprise a lot of people with his effort. Floyd, coming off a 2 year layoff, with Marquez's confidence and ability seeming to be at an all time high....this is no sure-thing IMO. Marquez's timing is phenominal and he'll no doubt clip Floyd with shots to the head and the body.

Floyd SHOULD win though. Maybe a stoppage between 9-12 or a clear decision.

    1. I'm DAMN glad Floyd has returned.

    2. Anybody who thinks this is a tune-up and that JMM is NOT an incredibly live under dog has been smokin' their breakfast.

    3. Go PBF!!!!

I think Floyd BELIEVES this is a tune up fight. Otherwise he wouldn't have taken it. But it's intriuging becuse he may have underestimated JMM..

Yep majority here pick PBF to win... but there's a few here who give JMM "more than 50%" chance of winning this fight...

    Here's that poll:

as impressive as JMM is, lets nots lose sight of the fact that most fighters going up are bound to lose if they went up against a bigger fighter even of equal skills.

    dlh vs. bhop.
    tito vs. bhop.
    penalosa vs. juanma

and a host of other fights. this is not to question JMM and 0.01% really is laughable but going up in weight and upsetting the bigger fighter is more of the exception and not the rule.

people should rule out pac because what he has done is truly exceptional.

pbf vs JMM has the hallmarks of penalosa vs. juanma. penalosa was the older and smaller man going up in weight just like JMM is.

and just like JMM, Penalosa has never been stopped, with great defensive and counterpunching skills.

You really feel that way? I tell you though, he better damn NOT under estimate no JMM, that's for damned sure.

I don't really think Floyd is the type to take risks unless it's for huge cash, which this isn't. So the question is why's he fighting him? I think it's, as somebody else said, a 'red herring' - he wants to beat the guy that PAC couldn't. To me it's a good matchup, but looking through Floyd's eyes I can see how he might think it will be easy. And he tends to be good at knowing such things.

    did you mean 1%?

at 1% it still is very low at 1 out of 100.
at 0.01% it means jmm only has a chance to win this 1 out of 10,000.

Yes, that's it 1/10,000 chance... I'm one of those who don't totally write off a boxers' chance in winning a fight... Every boxer has a chance to win as long as he throws some punches... I'm not completely writing off JMM's chances against PBF hence I give him 0.01 percent (0.01%)... That's really very very tiny chance but at least it's not zero or "no chance" at all...

Just to clarify, if you think it's easy to pick the winner in this fight. Like say, you give Floyd a 90% chance to win this, then you obviously think this is an easy fight. Maybe you don't want to call it a "tune-up", fine. But the result is the same... you're agreeing that this is one of those low-risk fights that fighters sometimes get.
