This type of scenario is possible if Mayweather is in command from the beggining.......

.....but I guarantee you, the fight is'nt going to be competitive for a few rounds and then Mayweather is going to step on the gas.......that just is'nt going to happen against a caliber fighter like JMM.

If the fight is competitive and Marquez is competing in the early going, watchout.....because if anyone of them is going to step on the gas in the middle rounds, it will be JMM who it is proven can carry a high workrate.

A scenario where Mayweather carries a steady workrate, and JMM lowers his workrate due to the weight issue in the late rounds, is a scenario where Mayweather may benefit late in the fight......but it aint happening the way you describe in the mid-rounds.....and Mayweather is'nt just going to step on the gas against an accurate puncher like Marquez.....

......if Marquez gets stopped, it will be late, and it will have come by gradual accumulation, most likely Marquez' shots not causing the same accumulative damage that Mayweather's shots may have caused.

I'm talking about pre-fight picks... I picked PAC to win over Oscar coz PAC has the speed, stamina, youth/age and ring experience advantages over Oscar...

For JMM, I can't really pick him to win or give him considerable chance over Floyd coz he has no advantage whatsoever against Floyd... JMM is expected to lose this fight...

BTW, who's your pick in PBF-JMM fight? And did you picked PAC to win over Oscar?

JMM advantages over Mayweather....workrate, combination punching, and offensive arsenal.....which is his punching repertoire.

.....stamina may also be an issue with Mayweather if he cant keep up with JMM's workrate, which I'm certain Marquez will try to set a high one.

My pick is Mayweather by decision, he's very close to his prime and fighting at a weight where he belongs in, but I'm certainly not counting JMM out and believe the fight will be competitive which ever way it goes.....

I picked DLH over Pacquiao, assuming like everyone else that DLH would walk into the ring at close to 160 lbs.....

.....my pick however became invalid as soon as I found out prefight that DLH was walking into the ring weighing less than Pacquiao.....
.....and I believe it can still be dug up, prior to the Pac-DLH fight, I posted that p4p, weights being equal, Pac would destroy DLH in much the same way that he did Barrera.....it turned out it was much worse than Pac's destruction of MAB.

Its no secret in this forum that I dont think highly of DLH's boxing skills, which is the reason that I noted that P4P, Pac would whoop him.

I don't think the above mentioned factors will be considered advantages of JMM over PBF...

Workrate - this is nothing since both boxers are master counterpunchers. If you insists JMM will try to employ the higher workrate - meaning taking the initiative and do the attacking, it will be useless since Floyd will just counterpunch him to death...

Combination punching - this will only become an advantage if you have an aggressive attacking boxer infront of JMM... How can JMM throw his combination punching if Floyd is just potshotting him from a safe distance?

Offensive arsenal - JMM is not really generally known as an offensive boxer:D... JMM is best as a counterpuncher and if he will be more offensive in this fight then that will just hasten his downfall... PBF is just the better counterpuncher of the two...

Stamina? - Floyd is younger and known as a gym rat... There's no clear indication that stamina is a JMM advantage...

Oscar had all the advantages he needed, Reach, height, size, power and experience. It's just that no one expected Pacquiao to perform the way he did at the new weight with power carried all the way up with him. If you notice it's Pacquiao's power that discouraged DLH's aggressive approach as early as round one.

In boxing you can never predict what one fighter can offer till they fight at the weight. Who expected Mayorga to show no signs of power whatsoever jumping all the way to middleweight against Trinidad?, people thought it will be competitive assuming Mayorga carries his power with him. You can predict, sure, but to claim it will happen 100% is silly.

I picked PAC to win over Oscar coz PAC has the speed, stamina, youth/age and ring experience advantages over Oscar... that I think will overcome Oscar's massive size advantage (that's before knowing Oscar ****ed up his weight)....

You can definitely see that speed and stamina can clearly overcome size... JMM doesn't possess those advantages over Floyd...:verysad

JMM's speed is way too underrated, it's his fast counters that gave Pacquiao the most trouble and at 135 he proves to have power not many thought he had.

I gave the experience advantage to PAC over Oscar... PAC has a total of 52 fights going to the Oscar fight while Oscar only has 44 fights... Oscar maybe experienced in fighting at 147...;)

I don't consider power as the one that discouraged Oscar... PAC was hitting Oscar with numerous shots with just enough pop... PAC's elusiveness was the main factor Oscar got discouraged... He can't find PAC and that's why he can't throw a punch coz PAC was nowhere to be found...

I always cherished that fight situation where Oscar was facing a blank wall while PAC was on his right side firing shots after shots...

As what I had predicted, PAC's speed, stamina and experience will eventually overwhelmed the giant Oscar...;)

Yep JMM has a great fast counters but will it be useful against Floyd... Floyd has the fastest one punch (potshot) in boxing... How does JMM counter a very fast potshot and also considering Floyd enjoys a massive 5 inches reach advantage over JMM?

When you count experience in boxing you have to mention amateur experience as well since it plays a MAJOR role in how advanced a fighter is going professional after an amateur record. DLH is a gold medalist in the olympics and faced a lot of experienced fighters as a professional. We're talking guys like Whitaker, Chavez, Camacho, Trinidad, Mosley, Hopkins, Mayweather, Sturm, Vargas, Hernandez and Quartey.

It was stamina, speed and a perfect gameplan that won it for Pacquiao. Speed overshadows experience easily. A good example is the amateur fight of Amir Khan and another highly experienced amateur from Kazakhstan(a candidate for the gold medal) where it was obvious the Kazak fighter has FAR more experience but was overshadowed by Khan's speed and ONLY speed. It's like you're put in a situation where YOU KNOW what you're supposed to do but just can't handle the speed physically, though mentally you have an answer to it but can't do anything about it physically.

Easy to answer that, you just said fast ONE PUNCH. Pacquiao throws in combinations and all insanely fast yet Marquez was able to counter through them. If he could handle combinations from the fastest and strongest in boxing right now then fast single punches shouldn't be too difficult.

ha ha  This is where this fight gets boring...

fast one punch (potshot).... then run.... fast one punch (potshot).... then run.... fast one punch (potshot).... then run....

Get it? How can JMM use his FAST COUNTERS...:D Remember Floyd has 5 inches reach advantage and has the fastest feet advantage over JMM...

:patsch.did you understand the post divac. of course the poster counted it in the equation, he only pointed out its significance or the lackt thereof considering PBF counterpunching abilities.
