Round 1

Mtimkulu is reaching with the jab, fencing with Garrido at mid-range. Mtimkulu uncorking the right, timing it well and landing high & low. Garrido circling and checking Mtimkulu with his own jab, keeping him mostly honest but not rallying much offense.

Round 2

Garrido is pressuring consistently, either moving in a beeline toward Mtimkulu or spiraling in close and paving the road with jabs in multiples and then drilling down with rights from shoulder height. Mtimkulu, however, is proving very slick at mid-range, ducking and slipping. Mtimkulu walking Garrido onto slapping left hooks on the way-by and shoveling rights on the body. Mtimkulu starting to land counters in combination.

Round 3

Garrido is starting to cleave in close, flurrying wildly in alternating hacking motions and warned a couple of times for rabbit punches in the clinch. Mtimkulu, however, is taking long breaks in between the spurts of aggression from Garrido and missing with his counters while leaning backward above the waist, save for a few uppercuts and underhanded rights on the belt line. Garrido busier and making it physical. Mtimkulu doing cleaner and prettier work but precious little of it.

Round 4

Mtimkulu doing a better job not allowing Garrido to swarm him, being first with body shots and then U-diving out laterally and swiveling his neck so that Garrido's series of two-fisted plunging blows all miss, cascading down past either turned cheek. Mtimkulu countering in rhythm, very nicely.

Round 5

Mtimkulu putting together punches in creative fashion, standing just outside range and sharpshooting. Garrido hurt by a body shot and then strapped across the jaw with a right. Garrido coming forward, scrabbling for purchase on the inside and clapping his fists against Mtimkulu's back. Mtimkulu is landing pinpoint right hand leads, the wrestling free of Garrido's clinches, and landing another right.

Round 6

Mtimkulu is peppering Garrido with straight combos and snipping the corners with on-point footwork, slipping Garrido's head shots with consistently well timed neck bends. Garrido managing to chisel the body a bit while pursuing. Mtimkulu starting to land some uppercuts inside but paying for them. Garrido shoving him into the ropes and shoeshining downstairs, punctuating with hard piston rights on the abdomen.

Round 7

Mtimkulu is double jabbing the body effectively. Mtimkulu circling and drawing Garrido into ambushes, stopping on a dime to end a lazy reverse stroll and roping out a high right. Mtimkulu hooking off the jab while moving left, hitting Garrido all over his guard and some on the brow and ears. Kneading liver hooks by Mtimkulu jumping counterclockwise inside and colliding bodily with Garrido. Mtimkulu forcing a very stop and go pace now, Garrido never finding much chance to get off but pumping hard at the body nonetheless.

Commentators both gave the 7th to Garrido although none of his stuff was very clean IMO, all window dressing.
