Signed fights 2023? The glorious state of boxing.

If anyone thinks they can judge this way or that about the USA, let me assure you that whatever your particular country, you have the same percentage of good, bad & ugly within as America or anywhere else.

After rending out more tune ups up there at Top Rank the unwilling fighters will just get up & leave TR & try their hand at DAZN, BLK Prime, Triller, etc,

End of the day can't force these guys to take fights they don't want & change their nature now, too late.

 

Yeah rather go & watch something worth my time & interest, plenty of entertainment out there.

 

But with less options the ones that step up will prosper

 

Well, I can only speak for myself... but I certainly wouldn't want to be transported back to the 1920s, the ND era, and be a fan during that time - without being able to really follow what was going on in the boxing world. At least in nowhere near the same detail as we can today. As Levook said... with everything that is available to us today, this isn't the worst time to be a boxing fan.

 

I think so as well. I hope they keep boxing in the Olympics in 2024 but who knows. It is gone anyway from the 2028 Olympics. Even though I know how corrupt it is, I am still really sad about it because I started watching boxing first in the 1968 Summer Olympics. Let alone all the BS going on at all levels in professional boxing... Ah, well. Boxing is still my favorite sport and I will continue to watch it.

It seems once HBO dropped boxing, the sport declined. If Showtime follows, I think boxing will take a nose dive that will probably take decades to recover from.

 

In recent years, the Brits have staged several stadium fights, with 60-70,000 fans filling the seats.

After several years in the doldrums, Spain seems to be making a bit of a comeback, with several good fighters now coming from there.

Japan and Thailand are doing great (just look at the world rankings in the lower divisions)

In April, lots of Irish fans made the trip over to New York to watch their hero, Katie Taylor, in that memorable fight against Amanda Serrano in MSG - where they created the most incredible atmosphere I have seen in years!

No, boxing is not declining or taking a nosedive - it's doing very well outside the US!
