Silence From Team Pavlik??

    Has anyone besides me noticed that the silence from Team Pavlik is deafening? Normally in the prefight build up we get film clips, media day work outs, et. However, as far as I know Team Pavlik has been absolutely silent since the Youngstown Rally on August 27th. Has anyone heard any news?

    Training for his fight with Hopkins? Keeping things on the down low for the fight? Dunno..

    That would have made the Youngstown Vindicator. They normally do a snippet on KP every Friday. There has been no weekly "Pavlik News and Notes" for the past 3 Fridays.

    I think Pavlik is just taking this fight very seriously...as he should. No distractions.

    Well perhaps there IS something wrong with his mother and they closed camp to the public? James Toney did it a bunch of times when he was struggling to make weight.

    It's hard to say. My thoughts go in two directions. 1) KP is taking this fight very seriously and isn't allowing any distractions. 2) something is wrong.

    I'd just like to hear some kind of news.

    We did hear recently that Pavlik has been extensively studying Hopkins-Taylor I and II. I guess with the fight getting closer, they're hushing things down until they're on the eve of the fight.

    Who knows at this point really.

    Hopkins is pretty silent as well... not much to do I guess, the HBO will make a countdown show anyway (hopefully), it's better than 100 articles. Bob Arum doesn't like the war of words by the way and he's promoting this fight, so he's letting HBO do the hype and the fighters do the training.
