Sometimes I'm skeptical whether some of you can even throw a punch right.

When you get an article posted on Maxboxing about how you're the next big thing in boxing, and the media is starting to get ahold of you, you have a lot of expectations to fulfill.

This is especially true when you're known for your power, speed, and athleticism.

I admit that Berto was headhunting too much and relying too much on his power, but in his mind, the only thing he was thinking was KO.

And if you look at his opponent's face, and the way he was in control for the duration of the fight, with the exception of that FLASH knockdown in the 6th round, I think he did a pretty good job.

That mexican dude was just tough as ****. Most other people would have fallen under the pressure.

Berto's wasn't hurt. He just got hit, by a perfectly flush uppercut, was surprised as **** that he actually got touched, but recovered nicely.

    Dude is a gangsta.

You see him backoff? **** no. He kept coming. Dude ain't a *****.

When you touch him, he brings it harder. It's good that he got knocked down. Sometimes you gotta see how much you can take. Dude took it and came right back.

Give him some time and he'll be champ.

And for the haters, **** YA'LL.

Berto has a great fighters instinct, heart, great handspeed...

But his chin is about what I said it'd be... shaky. That's why even a Judah level guy would paste him early.

    **** that.

He got hit by a punch he didn't see coming at a different angle.

It was also an uppercut. If you don't see an uppercut coming and it's coming from a weird angle it hurts more than any punch in my opinion.

It's not really the pain though, it's just that it suprises you.

He got caught. Dude got a little lazy with his D because Rivera couldn't hurt him.

His chin is fine. He didn't even look hurt by the punch.

Caps, give me a break, Rivera would have finished him if he had 30 more seconds, Berto was extremely buzzed.

This was an opponent that Judah pasted in 3 rounds by the way...

good post...Berto showed very good intangibles against a very tough Rivera...all Berto needs to do is set-up his power thru a jab, and go to the body early instead of head-hunting and he will be up there with the top welters...but at this point i'd favor Joel Julio over Berto if they fought tomorrow...
