"However you get individuals such as Crawford, Andre Ward, Anthony Jenner and Manny Pacquiao who are very opinionated individuals who you know have a lot to say but pretend they are above speaking their mind"

So you don't just hate Joshua then.....

    Just boxers which are successful.

I don't care if they are loud an obnoxious, quiet and timid, or plain dumb. What I look for in a fighter is someone that is willing to prove they are the best, by taking on challenges, and doing whatever reasonably possible to make the fight the fans want happen.

Personality and character traits has very little to no influence on who I will root for or who I can appreciate.

Rooting for or against a fighter based on how sweet, or mean they are is something my GF would probably do.

Elite skilled trash talking superstars are the only ones who cyclically grow combat sports

The simple difference is that the 'Silent Killer' doesn't get mocked after a defeat because he hasn't come out with some crazy claim like a 'Loud Trash Talker' does.

Then you have the fact that people turn in to watch 'Silent Killer's' kill.......
Whilst these same fans tune it to watch the 'Loud Trash Talker' take a beating.

Some smack is ok, as long it’s clever and doesn’t get obnoxious. Fine line, can’t teach it.

    Example, Baby Miller;
“And Deontay, oh Deontay.. I’m coming after yo’ Alabama barbeque...”

All spoken with that big happy grin. I’d sit down and drink a beer that guy, but if I spied a prime Tyson, near as the other side of the street, I’m headed for the timber

I prefer a trash talking fighter who is honest and admits he is talking trash.

They also need to be humorous and have a bit of charisma about them. A bit of humanity is important..

If they just come across as arrogant and serious all the time then I won't support them not matter how good they are..

That really depends, if the loud mouth backs it up, and does his mouthing attached with some humour, then him.

Otherwise, a quiet but confident winner, so long as they aren't just plain boring and are able to again, back up their right not to bother sucking up to fans, by being ruthless in the ring.

I can't stand trash talkers. Real men don't need to act like children to get attention.

Both, a fine balance between loud mouths and quiet men, shouters and thinkers means i can enjoy both. If everybody did it it would be like WWE and just too much, if nobody did it it would be boring.

Agreed. I'm a fan of both JT & Bhop, but I only Like the trash talk of James Toney, but not Hopkins, nor PBF, seemed to scripted -rehearsed. JT was off the top.

JMM only talks smack about Pac..I consider him a quiet assassin.

Tapia & Camacho probably my fav loudmouth arrogant braggarts. Loved the way Camacho took his whoopin from JCC like a man.

50/50 on Tyson. His trash talk was supreme, but what a friggin crybaby sore loser who couldn't take a whoopin like a man..or back up his talk in defeat. BTW I never watched his Lewis fight...knew the outcome so I can't comment on that.

Generally silent killers..... But as others have said trash talk in some instances can be interesting if the person doing it is quick witted/intelligent.

    Trash talker.

Silent is boring and you usually just look stupid sitting there quietly.

You do have to have a quick wit though to be a successful trash talker.

I really dislike the trash talking before fights. Reminds me of 80's and 90's WWF.
If there's legit animosity then fine, but trash talking for the trash talk alone really puts me off.
Certainly the guys that constantly talk big and no show or run/hug on fight night, really have no love for them.
"But... but... he's exciting outside the ring..." :vomiton22je:

    Silent killer type by far.
