I like Sillakh, but from amateur stories and fights as well as his general build (long skinny neck), I've thought he may have a glass jaw. Turns out he definitely does.

He's a good fighter but I knew he had a questionable chin since I've seen him get KO'd in the amateurs. Still he shouldn't have lost to a guy like Grachev, he is so much better than him

This is why having a solid chin is SUCH an important factor in determining success in boxing. Here you had a guy - Sillakh - who was light years better than his opponent. Didn't matter, because he couldn't take a punch.

    Chins matter!!!:yep

Yep. All the fan boys on here who tell us a Chin doesn't matter need to watch this fight. Another Glass Jawed hype job exposed. A Chin is THE most important attribute for a fighter to have.

    Glass Jaws exist in Boxing.

Once again, here is more concrete evidence for the Fact that a superior Chin is the most important attribute to possess in Boxing. Sillakh has no Chin. None.

:thinkI don't think his chin is all that bad.:think He just seemed to be looking beyond Grachev. He almost looked to be trying to put in rounds. :-(
He cou0ld have put his guy away at any point earlier in the fight, and by allowing Grachev to stick around he let him gain confidence in his own punch resistance.
So when Sillakh finally went for it in the 8th he seemed surprised more than hurt when he ate that first R hand. When he went into the defensive, he wasn't terribly hurt, and he took about 12-15 solid shots before he went down.

Seems more like a Wlad Klitschko type problem than a china chin problem. Overconfidence+poor defense= KO loss. Happens to the best. Lewis, Foreman, Tyson, DLH, Hatton etc etc etc.

Sillakh will be back and if history tells us anything, he'll be better than he was being hyped in the first place.:deal

Hopefully Roy gets him in with a trainer who can instill some defensive things into his game.
