Silva and Sonnen are both...

...amazing fighters.

I just wanted to say that before all the usual hate starts from either side.

Chael Sonnen - what a fighter. His wrestling and his GnP, his cardio and his mentality, he looked like the unstoppable force for four and a half rounds. No-one, not even Dan Henderson, has managed to dominate Silva for the majority of a fight like that. I thought he was going to get knocked out early tonight. I look forward to a rematch!

Anderson Silva - what a champion. He took so, so many clean head shots. He was under so, so much pressure. It would have been so, so easy to lose heart. Yet this guy ate the punishment, kept his composure, and used his skills to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. An incredible warrior.


No doubt most other people will see it otherwise, but I thought this was a great fight involving two great fighters, and I give massive, massive credit to both men for what they did tonight.

He had the smile wiped off his face big time tonight, regardless of the result!!

 

The showboating doesn't really irritate me as such, it's the time-wasting that kills me. I wouldn't mind the showboating if he is actually causing damage while he does it, but mincing about then standing off, wasting everyone's time and disrespecting the paying audience kind of turns my stomach. Having said that, I don't hate Silva, I think he acted like a complete ******* but it's not an unforgivable crime, he made up for it a bit with his heart tonight in my view.

 

He wasn't very cocky when he knelt at Sonnen's feet in a show of absolute respect. Credit where it's due, he behaved with honour tonight.

 

He'll probably have no choice. Dana ordered Machida to give Shogun a rematch, he should do the same here.
