yeah but we all know that anderson could have ended that fight at any moment he wanted to, lets be honest, he's nearly 35 years old, at this point in his career he shouldn't be wasting the limited fights he has left in him with those bull**** antics, he should be fighting mega fights, if he felt maia posed no threat to him and that's why he toyed with him then he shouldn't have taken the fight in the first place.

    **** anderson silva

Scared my ass. Silva clowned way too much, but he was never scared for a second in that fight because he knew that Maia had no hope at all of hurting him or taking him down. He's a shithead because he didn't try to end a fight that he could have at any moment and instead chose to pulls some cocky bull**** and humiliate his opponent.

The worst part about this fight is how poor Maia must have felt. I've boxed and kickboxed with guys that are much much better than me and when you've tried every trick you have and thrown your best and set things up the best you can and still get clowned it's a terribly helpless and depressing feeling. I always just tried to tough it out as best I could and waited for the round to end, but if a guy was talking that much **** and mocking me for that long in front of that many people I'd have thought long and hard about just packing it in. Maia should get a lot of credit for never quitting. Being embarrassed in that way in a combat sport when you're used to being one of the best in the world in another combat sport and used to being the alpha male must have been horrible.

I'm not sure what should happen next with Silva. I think Sonnen has been brilliant in talking and fighting his way into line for a shot, and I think he'd have as good a shot as anyone at making a good fight with Silva. Henderson won the first round from him when they fought and Sonnen would have the same game plan. Belfort...I don't think he can beat Silva. Sure he has very quick hands but I don't see Silva letting him get in range. Silva as so much ****ing reach it's hardly fair. Also, Belfort doesn't really show up in a lot of his big fights and I think he'll be gun shy as hell against someone like Silva.

As for GSP, I don't know. He could get him down and try to control him the way Hendo did. Maybe that would work and maybe it wouldn't. I think we'll know if GSP has any shot at all if we first see how a fight with Sonnen goes.

Silva was an utter disgrace with how he went about the fight.

Silva lost the last half of the fight... No doubt about it, all he did is run while Maia pressured. How can you possibly praise a fighter who ran from a guy who had a bloody nose and one eye? How can you even call him a fighter? The only thing Silva did effectively in that fight was clown around... Maybe he isn't a fighter? Maybe he is a clown? If that is the case then he sure did his job last night.

Best pound for pound? Better than GSP? There is no question now... The guy doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as GSP and he doesn't belong in the top 10 pound for pound.

Geez, no one's happy about the way he fought, but you're letting your disgust overwhelm your judgment. Silva moved up a weight class and totally destroyed a guy that was much bigger than him and was champion the year before. The only guy to actually TAKE a round that Silva didn't give away was Hendo and that was only one round by grinding on the ground. Maybe GSP could do that for five rounds without getting clocked, but I doubt it. Hate his style all you want but grow up and admit that he's certainly one of the best fighters in the world.
