Anderson is nearing retirement and looks bored with his successes. Why not give him a huge payday like big name boxers receive and that Spider deserves.
Stop with the "they are two different sports" lame argument. A big aspect of MMA is boxing skills. Lets see Silva match his with the best.

Then lets do it in MMA, it would garner even more attention.

It's a dumb idea either way

I wouldnt mind seeing it but RJJ has bigger fish to fry at this point. And frankly, it would be a complete mismatch. Not to mention, how do they even sanction this fight? A 1-1 pro boxer in Silva fighting a legend albeit old one in RJJ?

I said this before and ill say it again, Silva would get utterly embarassed if he fought RJJ. It just wouldnt be competitive.

Silva wanted to fight RJJ in boxing, not MMA.

    Silva wants RJJ in boxing...

Which really is a disgrace that he even feels he has the right to fight the bloke.

Silva should stick to his MMA,where he is obviously 1 of the top dogs.

Though yesterday's fight pissed me off.

He needs a challenge I agree but fighting Roy will just get his head knocked clean off. I wish he would go to Light Heavyweight hes just a level or 2 above everyone at 185 and quite frankily its boring to me.

anderson silva never said this, the guy has more class than to say, silva at the moment would not beat any top 75 ranked lhw in the world

and thats being generous could be more like top 100

I also agree! Cung Le would be a great match and a great promotion. Anderson Silva needs a challenge and wants a payday. This fight would give him both but an RJJ fight would give Silva a monster payday.

In a Boxing Match....Roy Jones would humiliate him, badly.

I am telling you with Roy's Glass Jaw anything is possible in this fight.

Anderson is a HUGE 185er he should move up and fight the 205ers, there are plenty of good fights to be made in the LHWs not to mention he won't have a major size advantage. He looked like a monster against Cote. He was even bigger then Irvin as a LHW so naturally he should move up.
