    Rubbish

Anderson is equally comfy at 205 as he is at 185. That much is PROVEN

Jones cuts like **** to make 205. Drain him down anymore and you got yourself a Pacquiao - de la Hoya scenario

    How is that proven?

Ridiculous. Anderson has proven that he's a dangerous fighter at either weight. Jones has no history at all of fighting below 205. If he's forced to drain himself to a point where he may not be able to perform, what's the point of having the fight (other than padding Anderson's record)?

Ok and GSP can go up and probably mop the floor with Bisping at Middleweight. Does that mean he shouldn't ask for a catchweight against Anderson?

How is what proven? It's generally accepted that Jones is a large LHW, who is already cutting 15-20 lbs. to make weight. You think that him cutting at least another 10 lbs won't have any adverse affect?

If he signs the contract then no i dont care.
In the end Jones knows how much more he can go down.
Anderson isnt stupid he wants to gain as much of an advantage as possible.

It wouldn't be if Anderson didn't have a history of fighting at WW and didn't think he could make a catchweight comfortably.

You said it was proven that Anderson is as good at LHW, as he is at MW. How? Because he beat 2 guys he has a ridiculous advantage against on the feet? How's his stamina up at 205? Would he be able to pull off the 5th round sub that he did in the Sonnen fight, if he was fighting at 205 with the extra weight?

If he fights Jones, and Jones doesn't cut extra, that means Anderson has to put some extra weight on to account for the significant size, strength and weight advantage Jones will have. This MAY make Anderson slower, and his stamina may suffer.

If Jones cuts extra and comes in lighter than normal, Anderson does not have to gain as much, because the size disparity will be less.

Why is this so hard to understand?

When Anderson was fighting the likes of Forrest and Bonnar, losing some speed and stamina isn't much of an issue, because he is SO MUCH more talented and skilled than them. Even the weight advantage isn't much of an issue, because he can constantly out-position them on his feet.

Against Jones, ALL OF THAT will be an issue. That's why a comfortabl middle ground has to be found, so that Anderson doesn't have TOO MUCH of a weight disparity to overcome, so that his speed and stamina is maximized.

 So now on the same thread, you are saying Jon Jones shouldn't have to meet Anderson at a catchweight because Anderson has fought at LHW before, BUT GSP should demand a catchweight against Anderson because Anderson has fought at WW before :good :yep

Cutting an excessive amount of weight drains you and Jones has no experience fighting below 205. We have no idea if he can safely make the weight. It's ridiculous to stipulate a condition that might put a guy's health at risk or limit his abilities in the cage against a very dangerous opponent.

For the record, I think that all of these proposed "super fights" are bull****, and I don't care to see them if they're not going to take place in proper weight classes. Anderson vs. GSP is an especially comical fight. GSP's only avenue to victory would be to attempt to dry hump Anderson for the duration of the fight.

IMO hardcore fans should stop demanding this **** and focus on realistic match ups that are on the table.

    Huh?

I didn't say that GSP should demand anything. I just pointed out the fact that Anderson has a history of fighting at WW and that it was Anderson who offered to meet GSP at a catchweight.

I don't think that GSP has any business fighting Anderson. It's a mismatch and it would be a slaughter.

I agree with you. And honestly, it's up to Jon and his team to say how low he can go, if below 205 at all.

It's funny how Anderson gets a pass for clearly not wanting to fight jones or making stupid demands about the fight (he knows jones couldn't make 192) even tho he's fought at 205 before! But GSP who has never fought at middle gets slated for ducking silva!?!
