Don't have to. I recommend you give it another watch, though.

I thought you were going to say two times. That would have been wrong. You said three. That's even more wrong. First time I've ever seen that claim, in fact.

He "dropped" him once. In a boxing sense. As in, his glove touched the ground.

Yes please. Provide the three gifs.

He "dropped" Silva in the same sense that Zab Judah "dropped" Mayweather.

It's quite obvious that Chris Weidman will have to set up his TDs (which he is quite successful at).

Anderson Silva's TD defense is not one of the best things he has going for him. Chael Sonnen laid out the blueprint, and took the Champ down over and over in 6 of 7 rounds together. Chris Weidman describes this as "Moving forward, punching and going for TDs", and I like his chances. If the fight goes to the mat, he is capable of doing things that Sonnen couldn't. For one, inflict damage, and two, submit the champ. Sonnen was able to control Anderson Silva quite easily.... Let's see if Weidman can too. I don't see a reason to think that Chris Weidman couldn't as he has proven he can. I saw him take Damian Maia down and attempt a few submissions, not to mention maintain control over the BJJ Champ.

This isn't Stephan Bonnar, or a Southpaw in Chael Sonnen.. This is a legitimate threat and I just don't know what will go down. If Weidman can't take him down he will probably lose, but if he does.... :scaredas:

I think Weidman has a good a chance as any of getting Silva to the mat. He does set up his TD's well and hopefully he wont retreat into his shell like Okami did when the bell rings

I think Andersons BJJ is quite underrated though, at least defensively. But he is very vulnerable to strikes on his back, I that is the key for Weidman

So how do you see the fight going? Who wins?

I see two outcomes..... Anderson Silva catches Weidman coming in and punches him out within the first few minutes or Weidman grinds him as fine as dust and blows the Champ away within a few rounds. If Anderson Silva is punched out it will come after a few rounds. One thing that I believe will happen is that Chris Weidman will take something out of the Champ... Who knows, maybe it will be like Hughes v GSP I?

Er, no he didn't. Are you sure you aren't thinking of the movie 'Rocky IV'?

He didn't even 'drop' him once. He staggered him once that I can remember, but Anderson didn't hit the canvas. To say someone was 'dropped', I think it needs to be an actual knockdown where the guy was on his back or his ass. Anderson staggered backwards, but kept his footing. Yeah his hand touched the canvas so he could have got a mandatory eight-count in boxing, but this ain't boxing. That wasn't a knockdown in MMA, so he wasn't 'dropped' at all.

That's certainly how I remember it.

War-Lord knows best, though. Just wait for the gifs.

Even the punch that 'staggered' him though, it was purely a balance thing because Anderson was a bit complacent about Chael's striking ability while anticipating the takedown attempt. Anderson wasn't remotely hurt at all by it, and as soon as he'd regained his balance he was ready to fight again instantaneously. I think War-Lord may have taken one too many punches to the skull himself, judging by his wildly distorted interpretation of that bout.
