guys, what do you think about anderson going up against jon bones jones.

both have the same fighting style and physique in my opinion.

although jones fights at light heavy, he is still a bit young.

anderson moonlights at light heavy and will be a good fit.

i mean jones is one menacing and fast fighter, he needs better competition imo. someone like silva

Same fighting style ? Silva uses Muay Thai to KTFO his opponets on his feet. Jones takes every opponet down, passes guard and smashes in their face.

Silva too experienced for Jones and would take him to school.

I would root for Jones but he is in for a beating in this one.

  4. Agree silva too experienced but it would be a styles fight. Very nice to watch. Wouldn't rule Jones out.

have thought about this often - their styles are similar being that they both possess very unorthodox styles - which is just so good to watch - at this stage would have to give it to silva not convincingly but give jones a few more fights and it would be too hard to say - would come down to purely on the night.

    :lol::lol:.

well, if you actually look at them, silva is 6'2, jones is 6'4. both are gangly fighters with quick reflexes.

they even have similar moves when crouching/prowling on attack mode.

same fighting styles in the sense that both use extensively elbows, knee strikes and leg kicks.

I actually think that jones will dominate this fight. he is younger and bigger. and his speed is terrifying, both standing up and on the ground.

i think this will be the first time for silva to face such a bigger and quicker fighter imo.

Ive barely seen any striking from Jones especially anything comparable to Anderson Silva. Now his ground game  the guy makes takedowns, passing and GNP look easy.

and ****ing menacing to. the way he destroyed vera and his opponent last night, is truly magnificent.

as for striking, i doubt silva will be as dominant. silva is used to fighting smaller and stockier fighters, even when he was fighting in japan.

but I seriously doubt if he can be as dominant when he meets jones.

I am no fan of jones really, he is a bit cocky just as silva is. but if this two meet, i will not be swayed by silva reputation. if silva was bored when he was fighting cote and ran rough shod over forrest and 2x franklin, i seriously doubt he will be anywhere near bored when he fights jones.

It would be no secret that Jones would go ''Chael Sonnen'' style vs Silva, being very aggressive and looking to bring the fight to the ground ASAP to tire Silva out. To be honest, I feel Jones would win this fight, he's so energetic and quick and yet very, very strong. But of course, silva is so accurate and unorthodox, and also just as fast.

There's just no way anyone can be a 100% sure of who would win this fight, both have way too much all around skills, it could end anywhere.

It is a good fight but Dana doesn't think either man is ready. He still wants Silva to fight at 185 and he wants Jones to keep building. He is holding Jones back because 205 is so stacked that he is going to wait for Machida, Shogun, Evans, Rampage etc to lose a few times and the public lose interest. Then Jones will be ready to join the mix.

Jones is now between 5-8 ranking. Dana wants to keep him there. If Jones beats Bader then he is in the mix prior to having fought any of the top 4.

I'd rather see Velasquez vs. Jones.

cain is too prototypical for a heavyweight fighter unlike jones which is more of a light heavy and even middleweight type, except for his freakish height.
