He doesnt deserve the title shot but vitor is on his best winning streak in his career (5 wins) so this is the time to do it. It really is about challenging silva and vitor could probably do it..... for a few rounds.

Sonnen had his chance. It's time to see Belfort challenge Anderson Silva.

Sonnen performed well no doubt but the man TAPPED OUT he didnt lose a BS decision like Shogun did to Machida he cleanly lost when he challenged for the belt now its time to step aside and win a fight or 2 to earn another shot. UFC has had some weird match making IMO when it comes to title shots or eliminators I mean why not have the guy who was a minute away from the title (Sonnen) vs the guy who was the number 1 contender before his injury (Belfort) while the Champion (Silva) recovers from an injury ?

This is exactly the same way i see it. If the UFC is keen on Silva Sonnen 2 then Carwin should campaign for another fight with Brock to put the record right.

    please, no!

    ohh, god! why! why! why!

Two vanilla gorillas can only fight once, after that it becomes animal cruelty.

    and embarrassing!

Sonnen deserves that rematch because he dominated for 4.5 rounds (with the first being a 10-8). Silva needs the rematch as a champ to silence the critics. Belfort on the undercard versus the winner of Marquardt vs Palhares. You can then do winner vs winner.

He already did by beating former champion rich franklin. That's better than getting a title shot after beating chris leben who couldn't even win the ultimate fighter.

Vitor -beat ex ufc mw champ
Silva-beat leben who couldn't win the ultimate fighter

Let's not forget vitor was a former light heavyweight champion. He should get a title shot next.

He was a Light Heavyweight champ what 5, maybe 6 years ago. Fact is he hasn't won a fight at 185 in the UFC. He fought Franklin at 195. I know Leben isn't all that, but he was on a 5 fight win streak in the UFC when Silva demolished him. IMO you should have to have a decent win in the weight class in the org to get a shot, unless your something special; i.e. a top P4P fighter in the vein of GSP, Penn, Fedor.

As an aside, I know Vitor gets a lot of love on here, but imo he is overrated and an underachiever. And I fully understand he had some personal problems but still.

If the first fight is great and close then have another...and then a possible rubber match.

I have no problem with Sonnen's **** talking because he brought his A game & he almost pulled the upset by dominating better than 4/5th's of the fight.
