Where did i say Shields is a better striker ?, i said Jake Shields was winning exchanges on the feet with St Pierre, that to me was pretty unbelievable regardless of any other factor in the fight, whether Shields is an elite grappler or not, stand up fighting is stand up fighting, and St Pierre looked sloppy :deal That said ............................. i do agree that Shields looking to grab a hold of GSP and pull guard must of been on his mind, but still, its doesn't excuse the fact Jake Ellenberger is a brown belt is he not ??, and he went in there and flattened Shields Im not buying that, St Pierre's technique and timing looked sloppy from the get go, the eye being poked just added to the problem, which was St Pierre's stand up On that particular night
He kept winging looping overhand rights. It looked ridiculous. I guess he thought that he could catch Shields like Hendo did, but he forgot that he doesn't have Hendo's power. He did had some nice moments, though. This content is protected This content is protected lol: This content is protected
I thought it was an un characteristically poor stand up display from GSP What was your overall summary of it ??, and do you think it was an isolated show due to Shields grappling threat ??
