This would be incredible for Silva's legacy. If the guy is willing to drain himself and win, it would be impressive. The guy has fought at 205 so 170 is a huge drop. I think it would be easier for GSP to make 155 because he has muscle to burn away, Silva isn't very big. He looks like he should be adding muscle, not losing it!

pretty sure silva will be drained at 170..15 pounds is a whole lot..hopefully they can make it a catchweight if this fight ever happens

I like the idea, mad as it is. This is the kind of stuff that makes the sport exciting. Not staying in one division where you're absolute dominant. I won't blame GSP for doing that, but I appreciate guys like Penn and Silva more for taking those extra risks.

If Silva makes 170 he should still be able to outstrike GSP, but he'll find it hard on the ground I reckon.

This man knows no limits !!!! , he does make MW very very comfortably , its interesting and its a bit weird too , i really dont know what to make of it , i wonder who'll be the poor ******* to fight him first @170 ????

    He could realistically be a champion @170 , 185 & 205 !!!!!! very very real scenario that ....................

If Silva can make 170 they should go ahead and give him an immediate shot at GSP. There is no reason to beat around the bush, I think.

If he fights Fitch at 170lbs. he gets ground into the dirt. Fitch will neutralize his massive striking advantage and weight-drained Silva gets dominated for 5 rounds on the ground. He will never even make it to GSP.

    :good Great points Achilles mate!!

If Anderson Silva dropped to 170 and defeated GSP that would be a superb performance and it would greatly enhance his legacy!

Let us imagine that he dropped to 170, beat GSP and a couple of fights later won the 205 crown, where would be belong in the GOAT rankings??

What I would really like is for Fedor to drop to 205 (Or a sensible "Catch-weight") and fight Silva!! That is the fight I would love to see!!

If Fedor (As it appears) does not come to the UFC, maybe Anderson should consider signing with Strikeforce, in order to make that fight happen!!!

no way it would be easier for gsp to make 155 burning muscle when your not heavily muscled is not a good idea look at roy jones when he went to heavyweight and then back down it destroyed him it would do the same to gsp, silva has fought at 170 before years ago but still! and hes always a bit fleshy anyway i do think hed be completly drained tho! gsp easy at 170!

  9. Theres plenty of time for that. He needs to fight GSP mate!
