1. Pacquiao and Vargas (17 fight 17 KO at that time) were both heavy favorites, both were expected to dominate or KO Winky and JMM. It also appeared that everyone seemed to be influenced by the better than expected showing of Winky and JMM. 2. The judges scorecard for Vargas and Pacquiao are both the same, one had it a draw, one had it 7-5 and 8-4 for Vargas the champion. 3. Lederman had Winky winning because he was more aggressive than Vargas. 4. Just like Pac and JMM , Winky was a southpaw and Vargas was a righty....didn't see any foot stepping incident. Vargas mouthpiece came out once and so did Pac. ...this was a good fight and this also was not a robbery. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAqZ7I4T2Vs[/ame]
Enjoyed this fight However you talk out of your arse about the feet thing, I rememeber there being footstepping in this and low and behold I clicked to two random moments in the video, 1:13 and 1:18 and what is there? clashes of feet, then again at 1:19.....I could point out how many times it happens but you have eyes
Winky won the fight clearly enough. I would not sniff at it being called a robbery, simply because again at worst it was a draw. I don't care what people say about how close a fight is Any fight that a fighter SHOULD have gotten a win for, and the result has gone completely the other way, has been robbed. two polar opposites win--------------draw--------------win I would have however accepted a draw for this fight so I myself wouldn't call it a robbery, but I don't feel Vargas should have gotten the W
I would like to amend by post, Winky was robbed/on the end of an unfair decision. The best decision for Vargas giving him the benefit of the doubt, would have been 114-114.
yes, this is a different fight but there are rounds that could have gone either way which is why i believe that this also is not a robbery.
Again, the same as the Pac-JMM fight, Winky clearly won 6 rounds. The other 6 could have gone either way. Under those circumstances I can't see it not being a robbery, because most of the rounds Vargas 'won' were very closely contested and could just as easily been given to Wright, whereas Winky had ones that weren't debatable. So if you WERE giving the benefit of the doubt to Vargas, then it can only be 114-114, the same with Pac-Marquez BUt I feel you have to be very kind (or biased) to do that.
well, again.......judging is very subjective. Judges on this fight, I think, also gave the close rounds to the chanpion.
Yup the bigger names gets rounds just like bigger football teams get refereeing decisions, it isn't how it should be, but it is. All I know is, forget who was champion, or the bigger name, Winky outboxed Vargas and dictated the flow of the fight for the majority of it, I feel the same was done by Marquez, and in my opinion at the very absolute worst they should have been sent home with a draw, yet they were given L's, thus to me they were robbed.
Shouldn't be a surprise that Lederman favored Pac. Lederman, as has been said numerous times, favors the more aggressive fighter in a close round.
