Are there any? Obviously Pavlik does not have a Monzon type record yet but if he stays at MW a long time he could end up with one considering the quality of opposition. Monzon also did not fight in the best era. Both have very heavy hands and great strength, stamina and heart. Not the fastest fighters. Not the most techically gifted but they have a solid technical base. I was just watching In This Corner with Russ Anber and he made the comparison
It's the closest comparison that I've seen. I think Pav's. a bit more explosive and slightly faster and Monzon's lean back defense is a bit more effective. I'd like to see an article written on this subject
Speaking of similarities, Russ Anber is the Canadian version of Max Kellerman, same voice pitch, same aggravating effect of redbull drinkers on cigarette patches. :yikes

granted i haven't seen too much of monzon, but i can see some similarities. pavlik and monzon aren't too fast, but can deal with quicker opponents. they dont look spectacular, but they finish the task at hand. monzon looks more skilled and gets hit ALOT less.
