who wins this fight of hard punching welters.

both were very similar: both were of jamaican origins. both had similar physical tools.
both had a lot of opponents in common........and both had similar results.
both beat maurice blocker and jorge vaca. both lost to marlon starling.

both hold knockout wins over fighters considered close to pound for pound number one at the time they fought them (norris and curry).

    so who wins?

personally, i think brown was just the better fighter. slightly more powerfull, a bit better chin, better technically. not by much, but by enough.
i see a toe to toe slam bang fight with simons punches doing more damage to honeyghan than honeyghans punches to brown.

    brown by ko in 11.

If they fought pre 1988 Honeyghan would of schooled Brown and won on a late stoppage or unanimous decision.

1988 onwards, Brown would of broken Honeyghan down for a late KO win, Brown KO10.
