Both were champs at WW around 1989-1990 and it would have been interesting to have seen a fight between the two. Their common opponents were Marlon Starling, Aaron Davis and Jorge Vaca. You have two dangerous hitters so there’s a possibility of either of them getting stopped but who ends up winning?
Brown wears him down and stops Breland late on similar to the Tyrone Trice fight. I think Breland would have success early on but he hasn't got the strength or durability to last the distance vs Brown IMO.
Breland was brilliant on his day and at his very best i think he would beat Brown. Its a difficult one though
I see it the same. I think Breland left the best version of himself in the amateurs and was somewhat on tue decline by the time he turned pro. Brown wasn't as talented but he was a junkyard dog and seemed to come on later in fights. I certainly could see Breland winning a decision but my money would be on Brown.
I'll go with the mild upset and pick Breland by TKO. Simon would stalk him but perhaps give Mark too much time and room to let his hands go. Breland had more pop than Blocker who Brown stopped late. If Brown is able to get inside or even mid range without getting tagged first he has the edge
